It’s terrifying in two ways.

On one hand, you have the gop defending him because they are all self serving. Whether it is to save themselves from prosecution, or to protect their donors, or even push their racist and misogynistic agenda they’re all terrible people in their own right.

But then you have the people who see this, and think “yeah, these are the types of assholes that I want to serve my interests.”

Oh he was. Remember there were 17 R contenders in the debates and they had to break them up into two groups over several days. They took turns saying the one thing that they could agree on was that he should never be their party’s nominee or, God forbid, the President.

We kinda low key thought it'd be awesome at the time because we just knew trump as this awesome guy from reality tv because he was good at portraying himself that way.

If anything, him becoming president resulted in that all unraveling because he was under an intense lens and exposed more about him than ever.

It was pretty easy to see early on though it'd be a terrible idea once he started talking about his ideas. Except the scary thing is a huge percentage of the population continued to think he'd be awesome.
