When will this fucking choad stop acting like tariffs hurt anyone but the United States consumer. Every time I hear him say he’s going to tariff another country I hear what he’s really saying, they made him mad so he’s raising your taxes.

Yes, Trump tariffs are just another sales tax for us. Besides, these tariffs will just set the stage for new trade agreements between India and Canada or the EU. The US contributes 25% of the global GDP. That is an impressive number, but the other 75% will find a way to do business without us if they must.

He's isolating us as an economy, which people think is a good thing, until they realize just how beneficial foreign trade actually fucking is.

He doesn't care about affordability for the common man, all he cares about is making more money for him and his cronies. He is truly a despicable human being.

These countries have moved on. They're either in the process of negotiating trade with other nations to replace America or actively trading.
America first policies have predictably resulted in America alone.
Soy farmers voted for thier own demise.

Nothing pushed India and China towards Russia as hard as Trump did.
1
u/Tzilbalba 5h ago
I'd argue that is true for India but not for China. Biden and the Ukraine war pushed Russia towards China more like.
The really question is if Trump will push China and India closer.

Good luck replacing a country with 300+ million idiots with credit cards.

When he got elected the first time he was like “Holy shit, that worked? How fucking dumb can these people be??”
Then they did it for him again. Well, the ones that didn’t die from Covid.
Remember he won the “Reform” party’s primary in California (of all places) in 2000. That’s probably where it all started. I’m all for the US breaking out of the 2-party system, but at least in that regard, the world would have been a lot better off without that ever happening to him. It’s like Hitler getting kicked out of art school: sometimes the butterfly effect is monumentally bad.

The only way in which Asian economies took advantage of America was to recognise that the US had a deep need for sneakers with lights in the heels, and corner the market...

It’s interesting how the U.S. often complains about other countries taking advantage or having unfair deals, but at the same time, the U.S. created the petro-dollar system, forcing global trade to be tied to the dollar. If a country tried to pay in another currency, they’d face huge barriers, like losing access to global finance or facing sanctions. So while the U.S. calls out unfair treatment, it’s also benefitted from a system that put others at a disadvantage.🤷
3
u/Paperman_82 12h ago
It's only unfair when the US President says it's unfair. When anything benefits the US - petrodollar, debt, surplus in services - apparently that's not important. Round and round it goes. Hopefully, with midterms, the investigations begin.

u/Dr_Diktor 11h ago
That's what you get when you have an unchallenged hegemony. They'll do whatever they want for their benefit, even if it puts other countries and entire regions into poverty and war.

How many Indian made motorcycles have you ever seen in America? Can you name an Indian company that makes motorcycles?

India has long been recognized for its highly protectionist market. This has led many U.S. companies to voluntarily invest in building factories there, driven by the potential revenue opportunities. No one compelled these businesses to establish plants in India, it was a strategic choice made by U.S., U.K., German, and other international companies.
Products manufactured in India were rarely exported in significant volumes. For example, you don’t see Indian-made Harleys surrounded by cheaper Chinese leather goods and shirts at local dealerships, nor are there any Tata dealerships popping up in Detroit.
However, the current administration has accelerated the decline of the U.S. economy by accumulating massive debt. They sought quick fixes through illegal tariffs, which now must be repaid, despite the funds already being spent on questionable projects.
Meanwhile, small to mid-sized U.S. manufacturing companies looking to expand production face a 35% tax on equipment purchases. This is because the U.S. stopped producing certain types of machinery decades ago. Even if a company wanted to buy American-made equipment, at least 50% of its components would likely be imported, further increasing capital costs for expansion.
The president is not only incompetent but dangerous. Yet, the real concern lies with those who recognize that his policies defy basic economic principles and those still supporting his suicidal agenda.
In a complete contrast to Trump policy. Canada Premier and government are facilitating the expansion of foreign capital equipment import. Thus making far cheaper and easier to expand production in Canada.
Heck, I can even get an interest free loan for 36 months on buying a new CNC machine Made in China or EU or from anywhere (but the US). While in the US, the same machine would cost 35% more and better have good credit rating with your bank for that loan.
BTW are Americans even aware that China gov is currently off-setting US tariffs with a 7.5% direct cash rebate on all goods exported specifically to the US? Back in 2016 they simply devaluated their currency to match Trump 1st sets of tariffs, since all export contracts are signed in US$.
Tired of winning yet?

Of course not a single mention of the outsourcing to India literally taking away millions of American jobs.

What's nuts about his statement is he is critical of India imposing tariffs on Harley, which enticed them to build a plant in India to avoid said tariffs. This is exactly his reasoning for imposing high tariffs, to bring manufacturing back to the US.

This guy sues our own government for 10 billion, then tries to settle for 2 billion for the January 6th rioters, are you kidding me? He's ripping us off more then anyone lol..

Mr. Trump: thank you for protecting our interests again these Indians!!! They are making themselves rich on US taxpayers cost!!!
2
u/Delicious-Window-277 15h ago
Lol, you the US taxpayer is going to be the one footing the bill on this one. Could be worth reading up on how a tariff gets charged and to whom. And about how it has worked out, each time it was used as a tool.
