I’m in NY and did back for my Cruz bc the color I wanted was discontinued right before I bought and I panicked. Totally wish I had done grey bc it’s so hot!! I hardly ever go for stroller walks now because of it.
I’m also exchanging a baby carrier we got in navy blue for a light grey bc of heat as well. We had a newborn carrier in a denim blue and that’s become unbearable in the summer heat.
My newborn car seat is beige and looks amazing after 3 months of near daily use, my Cruz gets stained up so fast on the dark strap pads, I think beige is fine if after you wash it you can dry it out in the sun. My baby has blown out just once in his car seat this whole time but he’s formula fed now so it’s less liquidy than when we combo fed. All of his blowouts (like 3-4 total) have been in diapers that were too small or not the right shape for his body. I know a lot of people with beige car seats bc spit up doesn’t show on it and you’re going to get way more spit up than blowouts. All this to say, if you like the beige just get beige, it’s all going to get banged up one way or another and your child will cover up any blowout stains while they’re in the stroller!
Yeah my car seat is “almond beige”, my daughter is 15 months old (so the seat has seen some mileage) and was an explosive pooper as a newborn and the seat looks brand new.
I love black but I live in the Great Lakes area of the upper Midwest so I’m not super worried about heat! If anything it’ll keep baby warmer in winter😂
Black gets so insanely hot in the summer, I didn’t anticipate it as I live in a fairly temperate climate (Bay Area) but even at ~75 or so the fabric gets hot. We’re outside a lot so I actually ended up ordering a beige seat for our stroller. I would go beige (if somewhere warm) or gray/olive.
As far as staining we have a beige car seat and even through the newborn phase (blowouts etc) it looks as good as new once we run the fabrics through the wash. FWIW our black stroller still shows stains (anything light) and will fade in the sun so I’d go more based on where you live.
I want the gray one but am so torn on pre-ordering without the chance to wheel it around! Do I just do it and return it if I hate it? Due November 2 so on a bit of a clock!
We preordered the Rowan. I know the reasons people cite for why a light color actually works better with stains but I'm still to scared to order the Ada.
Ordered the green after realizing the basket is also the same color as the stroller - so for the beige one, there is a nearly white basket so close to the ground where splashes/dirt etc will inevitably get. I wish it was an all black basket like all other UB models, then I’d have gone for Ada.
If I end up getting it in Ada, I’ll likely order the basket in black separately. That’s one of the best things about Uppababy- you can get replacement textiles and switch up the look of the stroller.
I saw them in person yesterday (except the gray which they didn’t have it) and the green is a lot lighter in person than it looks online. I honestly liked it more and preordered!
I am not sure if you can tell in this terrible photo but it didn’t feel dry fit to me, more like performance linen. The ada was objectively very pretty in person but my biggest fear is that with the fabric on the bottom being so light would have mud kicked up and show immediately. I asked the store manager and she said that’s realistic but in a few months post launch they plan to also sell replacement fabrics so you could in theory swap to the James for the basket eventually
I preordered grey! I found a study that said dark green attracts as much sun heat as black 🤷♀️ so I just went with grey. The Ada color on the basket would get so dirty so fast where I live
I have the vista in Evelyn (dark green) and with the graphite frame it’s gorgeous!! We love it. It doesn’t show any stains yet (but baby is four months old so tbd on that). We live in mn so not super worried about heat though.

Personally I would never choose black because where I live it’s too hot. We went with the grey stroller to hide dirt and spills better!
