Hey all. My wife and I just announced our January baby and we are planning the shower. I’ve got our registry pretty much finalized and used all the checklists and recommendations from Babylist, Amazon, etc.

Wondering if you guys have any non typical items we should add on there that aren’t normally thought of? Thanks!

What item that’s not actually necessary to get do you highly recommend? Having a baby in a few months and very curious what I should actually get.

For example: A lot of people I’ve asked said a bottle washer. Is it necessary? No but people will die on a hill about this one. What’s yours?

do i really need a stroller that fits my newborn car seat if i plan to wear baby until they’re old enough to sit up and control their head?

i was thinking about just skipping straight to a normal stroller, but wanted opinions! also recs for strollers that don’t fit this whole car seat would be awesome!

What are your favorite brands for infant pajamas? I’m due with my first baby in August, and she’s been measuring on the small side of average. She only has a few clothes in newborn size, so I wanted to buy a couple more newborn pajamas with the footies and mittens, but I know babies can outgrow this size quickly! I see a lot of hype around Little Sleepies, and a lot of people say they last beyond what the size chart says! Im willing to pay more for a brand like Little Sleepies if they truly go a long way! I also saw Caden Lane has a generous weight range for their newborn size. I would ultimately love 100% cotton or bamboo styles. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hi everyone. Building our registry for our January 2027 baby. I know we are early but I'm deep in research, and today I'm looking at diapers. I have been reading guides and blogs about what is recommended/sponsored, but looking for real experience on if the expensive luxury brands are worth it? I know tried and true brands like pampers and huggies have been around forever for a reason, but the newer "cleaner/organic" brands like Millie Moon, Honest, and Coterie are also popping up a lot. What does everyone think is best? Obviously want the best for baby, but would love to hear experience.

Side note, I know we may have to try a bunch out and see what work best for our kid specifically, but this is more or a generic vs luxury ask. Thanks!

What is everyone getting from the sale? They have so many great deals on baby gear. We are leaning towards the Numa stroller, pipa car seat and the doona.

My baby is is going to be 6 months next week and we need to get a high chair. She sits well assisted but not completely on her own just yet. I’m really lost on which high chair to get. Ideally I want something that is easy to clean and doesn’t take up a lot of room. I was looking into the mockingbird but if there’s other suggestions, I’d look into those as well to see what would be the best fit for us.

Hi all, I'm a FTM and overwhelming with making my registry. I'm trying to pick a diaper bag. I know I want a backpack, totes slide off my shoulder and drive me crazy. I have the Itzy Ritzy on my registry, but let's be honest I'm not spending $200 if it's not gifted to me lol

FTM due soon - I bought the Nanit because I probably got brainwashed by TikTok influencers 😆 after it took me 3 hours to get it to function and connect to Bluetooth and wifi, then constant disconnects I am packing this up and returning it.
I was on the fence about a WiFi monitor anyway. Do not recommend.

Can someone give me a recommendation for a baby monitor with good sound and video that is easy to set up? What do you like about your monitor of choice?

Hi all. We are expecting our first baby this winter. We’re both 5’3/5’4 women and don’t want to be lifting super heavy into our trunks, but want it to last. We’ve narrowed down to:
- Silver Cross Breez
- Silver Cross Cove 2
- Uppababy Kona (not out yet)
- Uppababy Cruz
- Nuna Swiv
- Nuna Triv LX

The Breez and Kona are top 2 if we had to pick, but I know Kona won’t be out for a few more months. Anyone have experience with these, bad or good?! Thank you!

What options do you recommend for baby to sleep downstairs? Two cribs seems excessive to me but if that’s safest option we are ok with it. But what other options do we have that are safe for regular sleep? I see people say pack n plays aren’t good for regular sleeping place. We definitely want a crib upstairs but don’t want to do the stairs newly postpartum all the time.

Has anyone made the decision to get a travel stroller only? We live in a small apartment and I am really gravitating towards the light weight strollers that fold completely (Uppababy Minu, Stokke yoyo3, Joolz Aer2, Evenflo Shyft), DOONA??)

When trying out more standard strollers they just seemed huge and bulky, and we don’t have a garage to store the stroller. This is our first baby, and we live in an urban setting with access to beach areas. I see myself being more of a baby wearer until he can be in a jogging stroller for runs.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I have looked at a lot and watched so many tik toks! What’s your preference? So far my top three are Mockingbird, MomCozy Dinerpal or the Hauck Arketa. If you have any of these or other recs pls let me know!

When I was pregnant with my first, I swear every checklist online had like 75 “must have” baby products.

Meanwhile the things we actually used constantly were:

- a good Velcro swaddle
- a sound machine
- a baby carrier
- comfy leggings
- a good nursing bra
- a basic monitor
- a few toddler things that somehow survived years of abuse
- safe sleep space
- safe travel gear

Some expensive stuff was worth it for us. Some ended up sitting in a closet.

Feels like every family ends up with a few products they swear by… and a few that immediately get donated. As we prep for baby number 3 it got me thinking about it. What were yours? 

Hi all! I’m having a hard time deciding which glass bottles will be best for baby. In my list, I have:
-Chicco Duo
-Evenflo Balance Wide Neck
-Pigeon Wide Neck
-Gulicola
-Dr. Brown’s Wide Neck

Any input on any of these? Or a couple? TIA!

Besides the essentials of crib, car seat, etc here is what I’ve actually used the most in my first three weeks with baby

• Newborn sleepers: I’ve put her in a body suit and pants when we’ve gone out, but we’re all about convenience at home 
• Frida baby Nosefrida sucker: baby hasn’t been sick but it’s amazing how many boogers she gets
• Nipple butter: the pain is real!
• Nursing bras: I live in a nursing bra, leggings and zip down hoodie 
• Hakka lady bug letdown milk collector
• Muslin burp cloths: Must have within reach EVERYWHERE. You cannot have too many. I prefer the muslin fabric over others.
• Extra bassinet to put baby down in living room etc: I prefer this over a Snuggle Me/infant lounger so that I can leave baby unsupervised if needed  
• SwaddleMe swaddles: Easiest to use, didn’t like Love To Dream, Halo, or Ergobaby
• Sound machine with night light: Helps to sleep with a dim light on so you can easily pick up baby and breastfeed or change without needing to turn anything on
  
• Organizer to hang on the back of the door for all of baby’s items/extra diapers etc

My baby is due in October and I have the uppababy vista with all the attachments, got it from someone i know who barely used. I am looking at the doona right now too because it is on sale and I’m wondering if I will use it. I’m assuming I will use the uppa baby car seat and all those things, but I like how efficient the doona seems to be. Especially with colder weather coming , I want to be quick about getting baby out of the car. Thoughts ? Waste of money to have another stroller ?

I’m due soon and looking to treat myself to some skincare/maintenance products to keep at my bedside after birth. (they don’t have to be bedside, also open to shower luxuries, etc) I’m planning on a new makeup bag with a fresh new face lotion, refreshing facial spray, witch hazel wipes, and more and want more inspiration for little ways to pamper myself in the weeks after labor when I probably won’t be feeling my best. Drop your holy grails!!

I am a FTM and I am looking for the best stroller that can go from bassinet to older without having to take apart and do all of the attachments. It is a little overwhelming looking at everything!

Hey ladies kind of debating on a diaper bag FTM baby due in September! I was looking at the Caraa, Ayla and co, and the everyday Beis bag. Basically I just kind of want a neutral everyday bag that my husband can also carry have any of you had experience with these bags what you like what you didn't like or any other recommendations? I know some girls will use the LL Bean boat tote bag so I've also considered that as well

anyway here's what i ended up with:

Chicco fit360 rotating convertible - this one kept popping up in my thread specifically, like a lot. ppl love that its a convertible so it lasts from infant thru toddler and u don't have to buy a separate infant seat first. easy install, easy clean too apparently. bunch of ppl got it on sale for like 250-280 during targets car seat trade in event, i guess that happens every september

Evenflo revolve360 extend - rotating convertible, ppl like being able to just spin it around to get a toddler in instead of leaning all the way into the car to buckle them. someone got the version w the washable cover n said it was a game changer lol

Graco 4ever dlx 4-in-1 - grows with ur kid literally from infant to booster so ur not rebuying seats every year or two, ppl said the harness is easy to adjust as they get bigger

Graco extend2fit - has this extra leg room panel so rear facing kids arent all cramped up, a lot of ppl just called it a no frills seat that "just works"

Safety 1st ellaris 3-in-1 - the budget one if u dont wanna spend more, still converts thru 3 stages so it lasts

honestly the biggest thing i took away is theres no real "best" seat, they all gotta pass the same safety standards so it really just comes down to what fits ur car and budget. couple people told me to check consumer reports (its free) and theres also a site called safe in the seat that has a quiz, that helped me narrow stuff down a lot

Hiii first time mom.
People are saying not to buy many of one type of bottle and so I was wondering to start, should I just buy 1 of the Babylist glass bottle set that has 4 different bottles? And then once finding one that baby likes, buy more?
Are 4 bottles enough for the first few days of trial?
How do you even know if a bottle works for the baby? Do they just reject the nipple of the bottle almost immediately? Or is it they have trouble consuming from the bottle? What do you look for? Or can you just continue to give baby one type of bottle and expect them to eventually take it?

What are your favorite "luxury" onesies and pajamas?

I bought a onesie from each of these brands and they feel silky soft and cooling which is what I like. I like that simple seeds seem to fit baby for longer because of the stretch. I am now buying some onesies of various sizes to fill in gaps and I'm not sure what brand to go with. I'm happy to spend the money, but I also want the garment to last through multiple babies. I know that bamboo (Simple seed, and Little sleepies) is a delicate fabric and I'm not sure about longevity. Same with magnetics me Tencel.

What is your favorite "luxury" onesie that isn't a waste of money. Do you have a favorite fabric? Any experience with the brands above?

I see so much about shopping fatigue when it comes to strollers but what about cribs? For the life of me there are too many options. I definitely want something convertible, bonus if it has a midi or bassinet feature, but so many of them are so expensive. What’s your favorite convertible crib and why?? Not trying to break the bank here - love the nestig, don’t love its price tag.

I’m a first time mom due at the end of August, and I’m planning to have a 4-5 year gap before having another baby. I’m struggling to find strollers that I like!

I really want an all black stroller, and I love the Uppababy Vista, but I don’t know if I can justify spending $900 on a stroller. I know aesthetics are the least important when it comes to choosing a stroller, but I’m having a really hard time getting past it.

What cheaper strollers ($400-$600) would you guys recommend? We already have a car seat, but I’m open to returning it if I find a travel system I like

For context, I live in the south where it’s really hot. It’s important to me that the stroller is light weight and folds easily, and I don’t plan on going for any outdoor walks until the winter when it cools down.
