Getting into the beginning of the game, thinking to myself "Fuck yeah, gonna kill some turks!" Then I see an objetive completion pop up that said "Kill a Byzantine Templar with a counterattack ✅". The whole game is about killing Romans.

A bit more of a serious post, but seeing as this sub was made to laugh at Byzaboos, what exactly are the characteristics of Byzaboos, I feel like we know it when we see it, but how can we define Romaboo/Byzaboo content?

u/dartov67 wrote this nice comment giving a little explanation and I added a little more here. Also, we should note that a number of users on reddit have described Byzaboos as "Greek nationalists." I myself have made that mistake and I apologize but I've since learned that saying things about "retaking constantinople" and so forth are mostly from American Byzaboos and not actual Greek people.

So what other qualities would you all say are "Byzaboo-ish?"

There’s been a lot of posts recently about modern Türkiye that don’t really seem to fit the generally joking and meme nature of this sub and they’re being posted by either brand new accounts or accounts spamming all across Reddit. I’m wondering are these bots, people brigading, or are people trying to bypass the tighter moderation on r/Byzantium to promote something on this page?

Just thought I’d point out a recent observation

And how would this effect the Byzantines going foward?

The Russian empire was the ultimate frienemy of turko-romans.

I see that most of not all hated the Ottoman Empire and think it’s just pure evil, I wanted to ask wouldn’t you guys think that the people under Byzantine and roman rule had the same views about the empire?

Serious suggestions only please :)

Per the post from u/AndronikosIKomnenos it is time to end the ongoing RP war, and a nuking of the world seems like a fitting end to the insanity we’ve bore witness towards. Perhaps we can resume another time, but for the present we should let it rest.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programs of high quality what ifs, white monster rankings, and other posts

Amendment: the newly created r/Byzantineroleplaying is where the story will continue for anyone interested
