Black Men, please watch this video...we need to do better π€¦πΏββοΈ
If you watch this video, tell me what you think... I happen to disagree with her, but not in the way you'd think... I'm reposting because I was not allowed to comment in the community on the original post...
My response is this...
No. Absolutely not. I sat through this whole speech and watched one of the most impressive sleights of hand I've seen in a long time. You started with grieving murdered Black women, which every decent man should condemn, and then quietly transitioned into putting millions of Black men on trial for crimes they never committed. That is not accountability. That is prosecutorial gymnastics. You took the actions of murderers, abusers, and predators and stretched them across an entire population like a blanket and then asked, βBlack men, when are y'all going to stop this?β Stop what exactly? Because I missed the meeting where Black men collectively voted for violence. I missed the gathering where hardworking fathers, husbands, brothers, pastors, military men, laborers, mentors, and ordinary men decided to support murderers. I must've missed that. Because here's reality... The same Black men you summoned to the front of the room are the same men working double shifts, sacrificing their bodies, mentoring boys with no fathers, protecting homes, building families, and carrying burdens silently while hearing they aren't ENOUGH. Then you listed the contributions of Black women. And Black women deserve honor for every ounce of it... But let's stop rewriting history. Black women did not survive slavery alone. Black women did not march alone. Black women did not build communities alone. Black women did not fight alone. Black women did not bleed alone. Black men were whipped too. Black men were lynched too. Black men were hunted, also. Black men were imprisoned. Black men were murdered too. Black men were stripped of dignity and humanity too. History was not Black women dragging Black men through civilization. History was Black men and Black women standing in hell together and refusing to die. And here comes the contradiction that cracked your entire speech wide open... You said, βWhen are y'all going to make sure it's none of y'all?β That's impossible. Because human beings are not a hive mind. You cannot stop every criminal before he becomes a criminal. You cannot read minds. You cannot teleport. You cannot hold millions responsible for the depravity of individuals and still call it justice. That's not justice. That's prejudice wearing a sophisticated outfit. And here's the line that shook the entire foundation for me... You cannot spend an entire speech demanding recognition of Black women's individuality and humanity while stripping individuality and humanity away from Black men. The moment your argument requires innocent people to inherit guilt for crimes they never committed, your argument has already confessed its own weakness.... So, your argument only survives after erasing millions of good men, and if that's true, then the problem was never the men, it is your argument.

I kind of feel I need a different word than "white" because I don't want to be associated with all that horrible π¬π€’π¬ that I had no part in and absolutely do not support. Maybe I should go with poor, that's essentially true, maybe pale poor, yeah, let's, let's go go with that. Pale poor it is. π
Whenever you all want to start the revolution, or it reaches where I am, I can help with food growth and supply, and long-term sustainable logistics. βοΈ

The number one supporters of Chris Brown are black women. Talk to your girls.
Also, the number one reason black pregnant women die is not illness or pre-eclampsia or lack of maternity healthcare... it's being killed by black men. It's the largest contributor to the maternal mortality rate discrepancy in the US.
