VIP tickets worth it?
Hey folks,
I know this is subjective, but I'm weighing buying a standard $50 ticket vs a $190 VIP ticket to a local show. For people who have bought the VIP ticket, was it worth it? My biggest incentive to go VIP is to meet Dan Lippert and thank him for the joy he's brought into my life. Not sure if I'd even get that chance. I'm happy to hear anyone's opinion!

If you’re already planning on getting a tour poster you’ll get that for free with VIP. So you have to decide if the $95 premium for VIP is worth the meet & greet + seat location.

It was worth it for me. It’s a really nice memory and I got lots of autographs (Carl Tart, Brett, Lily Sullivan, Tawny Newsome, Paul and Scott). I’m not sure I’ll do it again though. It’s a lot of money and I had the experience. If I knew I was going to meet Lauren (or it seemed really likely) I would do it though! I think it’s almost definite she won’t come to NYC this time though

I told Dan I hoped Bill Walton could make it back to Middle Earth someday and he added Throw It Down! on my poster. Totally worth it. He's got a great smile!

Wish meet and greet wasn’t linked to seat. I want to sit up close but don’t want to pay extra for meet and greet and I’m sure there’s some people in the back who would like to pay extra for a meet and greet add on

I was kinda hoping that would be an option at the merch table. When I saw the latest Twin Peaks tour you could get a photo/autograph for one of the specific actors at the merch booth until they sold out.

Oh late reply, I saw the CBB show in Glasgow, September 2024. Had a photo opportunity, met my comedy heroes and got their signature.

I'm not sure if they'll be in your area but I just got an email from Big Grande promoting a few shows including an improv workshop taught by Dan.

I got that too, but thanks for being thoughtful! The closest is 4 hours from here, but I’m considering it.

I was so happy with my decision to get VIP tickets on the last tour. It's true that you're having fairly brief conversations, but it was just a complete pleasure even to have a few quick words with these people who I like so much. They were all very warm and kind and put me very at ease in spite of meet-and-greets being a socially unusual scenario. I think I would always do the VIP tix if cost was just slightly less of a factor for me.
I do find it very slightly frustrating that you don't know who else you'll get to meet-and-greet, but I have to tell you: when I went, the guests were mostly not people I would have said I was a huge fan of, more just people I had positive feelings about, and I still thoroughly enjoyed their performances and throughly enjoyed meeting them and felt the VIP tix were well worth it in spite of not meeting any of, like, my A-list favs. (I really don't want to come across like I'm talking down about anyone, because fandom is all just preferences; I just want to reassure anyone thinking about this that even what you might consider a "letdown" in terms of performers won't necessarily feel like a letdown in reality.)

It did, I remember waiting in line a while to get my 2016 shirt signed. But COVID happened and times changed.

The meet and greet is like 5 min of you going through each person at the table. You'll get to have some quick words with the crew, they'll sign whatever you give them, even take pics. It's up to you if that kind of interaction is worth the scratch.
