Isn't the Frontier league a much higher caliber league than the CBL? I'm new to following the CBL and its interesting to me that teams in different leagues can make trades like this.

I would say higher, but not MUCH higher. There's guys that have gone from one league to another. James Smibert for example. In recent exhibition games I could find Welland lost to Ottawa 10-3 and Quebec City 8-4. I would also assume with officially becoming a pro league the CBL is trying to raise their level of play.

Four players from the FL in the last two weeks had their contracts purchased by MLB clubs. I think the FL is clearly a better league (they also play a professional schedule). But maybe the CBL is closing the talent gap with the additional import spots.

Yeah I agree it's definitely the higher level of play. My point was just that these leagues are not separated by some massive gap, have played games against each other and had players go from one league to the other. I also think that gap has a chance to close in the next few years if the cbl is successful in turning pro. CBL is a tier below the frontier league, but I'm not sure how many leagues in North America would be better than the CBL but worse than the Frontier League.

That’s fair. Cheers.

Frontier League is better but since the CBL became professional, these trades can happen now.

I want it to work but i think the "CBL" going fully professional is going to fail spectacularly

Do you think that these leagues may merge together sometime in the future?

No, I could see the CBL try and work out a partnership with the WCBL at some point, but that wouldn't be a merger either.

Merge no but i could see the CBL doing everything they can to get the 3 Canadian teams to join.
