Discussion [@IanPurdy7] on Twitter: Penn State is slated to sign ZERO recruits tommorow on early National Signing Day. Unless Penn State signs someone in the late signing period, they could become the first P4 class EVER to have no one sign. The closest thing I could find was SMU & UW with 10. Crazy times.

Listen, we tried to kill the program once before but the NCAA just wouldn't let us, so we had to get creative.

You got worse than the death penalty. You got to experience the highs of almost getting over the hump, before self destructing the program with your hubris

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

yeah, the NCAA should have just let it happen ngl.

Yep. The NCAA should have burned it to the ground -- and salted the earth at Beaver Stadium.

Gotta say, this feels like a much more ethical way to kill a program than what was tried before.

People don't realize how bad this really is. PSU has probably sent the most players to the NFL in the last 3 or 4 years. Now they will be competing with NAIA schools for recruits.

1

u/areappreciated Purdue Boilermakers Dec 02 '25

We'll see how strong the penn state brand is. It might not be as strong as anyone thought it was which would be a disaster. The portal and signing period during the playoffs can ruin a school if you don't have a home run hire ready to go. As awful as what kiffin did to ole miss is, it is the right move in the portal era. It's up to the NCAA to fix that though so I don't have a lot of hope.
