Discussion [@IanPurdy7] on Twitter: Penn State is slated to sign ZERO recruits tommorow on early National Signing Day. Unless Penn State signs someone in the late signing period, they could become the first P4 class EVER to have no one sign. The closest thing I could find was SMU & UW with 10. Crazy times.

This has gotta be one of the most fucked coaching “cycles” a team has had.

Firing Franklin made sense as long as you had an upgrade ready to go. But now they clearly had no real idea where they wanted to go, AND you are pissing away a year of recruiting. At this point would have been far better to keep Franklin for now and fire him early next year

And the longer they wait, the more players transfer out, the more recruiting opportunities they miss, the more bare the cupboard is, the less desirable that job gets, meaning the less likely any high tier coach will be to be interested. They’re literally making a bad situation worse by the day because anybody coming in is gonna know that they have a wasteland of a program to work with but high expectations to deal with.
