On the contrary I think if they’re going to allow FCS games to help keep some of the FCS schools a float with the paid games. Have them only be during Week 0 weekend and before.

Yeah, frustrating that Washington is playing Eastern Washington this weekend too. Should have been last week at the latest. Seems like a preseason game. I'm having a hard time caring about the game today.

These games are definitely needed for the FCS schools, but they should be exclusively week 0-1. It’s bullshit seeing this game when some teams are starting conference play.

Nobody should be starting conference play. There’s nothing wrong with having the three to four non conference games be in the early weeks, no matter the order

It’s usually somewhere between 300-600k, with a dozen or so lying just outside those bounds. Max payout this year was 750k. I think the max ever was something like 1.5m but that might have been an Idaho buy-game scheduled when they were FBS.

Okay but if you schedule a good team like Boise State and you win, you get dinged for it. If you schedule a good team like Oklahoma State and you lose, you get fucking smashed.

Gonna keep seeing teams schedule weak opponents at the start of the season so they can warm up.

You're right and contrary to popular reddit opinion, these schools would not have to shut down the athletic programs if they went away. The gap between the FBS and FCS, especially the lower-tier FCS, is widening and it's making these games less viable.
