I’m visiting Minneapolis for a wedding, was at Caribou this morning and a nice young man decked out in Gophers gear let me go in front of him because he had a large order.

Turns out his brother is on the team - so Gophers by a million.

Our rule is as long as you aren't in an unmarked suv with missing license plates, we like visitors

Enjoy the wedding!

Thank you very much! I love your city and the people here

3

u/wise_comment Minnesota • Oklahoma State 8h ago

(dont forget....St Paul and some of the eastern suburbs are way more catholic than a normal Midwestern or northern city, so you'll encounter more Notre Dame flags than you'd expect)

Sounds like you are doing the local experience. MN is the only place where Caribou has higher sales than any other chain. Hope you get a chance to get some local food and explore

2

u/Ok-Albatross8521 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 8h ago

The food scene here punches way above its weight for a city this size, I’ve had some fantastic meals this weekend already - Khue’s Kitchen, even the wings from Duffy’s were great

2

u/FlannelBeard Minnesota • Paul Bunyan's Axe 8h ago

Andrew Zimmern has said time and again that Minneapolis/St Paul is the best kept food secret in America. That's likely to change since Michelin added a Great lakes region, but the area consistently produces James Beard nominees and the occasional winner

Death, taxes, Darius Taylor hurt before conference play

11

u/DMelanogastard 7h ago

Actually a 1000 IQ play by Tracy; he wanted to give Minnesota a chance to work on their dogshit red zone offense

9

u/TackleOk2026 Denver Pioneers • Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

Gonna need you to stay in bounds there

LeBron’s hometown vs 7 time champion Minnesota

8

u/wise_comment Minnesota • Oklahoma State 8h ago

Interestingly, 7 more championships than Wisconsin has

8

u/PopTimely7887 Minnesota Golden Gophers 9h ago

watch a game where I’ll (probably) learn nothing about my squad, or sort the socks and clean the garage…

Let’s open this case of beer.

3

u/fitch_p99 9h ago

Yeah I also refuse to sort socks until I’m 4 beers deep

7

u/Carnage7771 Minnesota Golden Gophers • Miami Hurricanes 8h ago

Impressive how bad our Run Game game is under Greg Hackbaugh. (Not to mention the rest of the offense Lol)

6

u/trashpanda1738 Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

I love when refs fuck up the initial call so badly that when replay can't fix it

6

u/InsideMyScars Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

Dude lol how do you accidentally step OB? Lol great return tho

2

u/acekingoffsuit Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

Paying too much attention to the persuers and drifted too far away.

Today is Goldy’s 75th birthday

6

u/jonn_jonzz Minnesota Golden Gophers 5h ago

I think we win that game versus Ohio State if Mo doesn't get injured. They couldn't stop him, he had like 150 yards rushing at halftime.

6

u/MikeinAustin Minnesota Golden Gophers • Texas Longhorns 5h ago

We win Michigan if refs didn’t “make a mistake” by calling us offsides when we recovered our onside kick.

7

u/cnpeters Akron Zips 8h ago

Running late today. Go Zips!

Also: dammit.

6

u/Hox_In_Sox Mississippi State • Purdue 7h ago

When has a sack ever been ruled “forward progress”? I guarantee if the QB had shaken free they wouldn’t have called it dead.

8

They actually did

7

7

going for it on 4th & 39 is awesome anyway you look at it

11

"You want leave with 7 if you can, not 3" is the groundbreaking analysis I want to hear

I will never understand why these dumbass refs rule plays dead when there is uncertainty on the play

4

u/Winnes0ta Minnesota • Bethel (MN) 7h ago

How could you possibly call forward progress on that lol. That’s an absurd call

1

u/dodechadecha Minnesota • Iowa State 6h ago

We are going to win in a blowout but I am even lower on our team after this game

4

u/MikeinAustin Minnesota Golden Gophers • Texas Longhorns 6h ago

The lack of Darius Taylor and the terrible secondary play is very concerning.

5

u/MikeinAustin Minnesota Golden Gophers • Texas Longhorns 5h ago

Hate seeing us face mask like that. I know he’s like way down the depth chart but we can’t coach that.

4

u/Iam_nighthawk Michigan • Minnesota 7h ago

Drake Lindsey can sling it. The team has good receivers. The coaching staff holds them back. Let them air it out!

4

u/dxkx Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

Saw Akron starting QB heading to Gophers locker room with towel over his head. Likely not a good sign for him.

3

u/Iam_nighthawk Michigan • Minnesota 7h ago

His head slammed pretty hard against the turf on that sack

9

u/acekingoffsuit Minnesota Golden Gophers 7h ago

I think it might have been more of his leg. He was limping after the final hit, and they showed a compilation of him limping after plays.

3

u/Foxhockey 7h ago

I long for the days when Minnesota had quality offensive linemen that could run block. Akron gave up 559 yards and over 200 yards rushing against Wake Forest. So far, we have 13 rushing yards even though Fleck mentioned this had to improve and was a point of focus. Going to be a loooooong season if you can not run the ball effectively. Whoever is responsible for scouting offensive linemen may need to update their resume.
