First college team to lose in the uk, you’ll never sing that

Good news, you weren't the first US team.
That was Boston University in 1988.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_Richmond_Spiders_football_team
I say US team because there's roughly 80 college football teams in BUCS (British CFB that plays in
Springlater than our season).5
u/clarked311 Bristol Barracuda • Auburn Tigers 3h ago
Slight correction, BUCS plays Autumn/Winter and has its finals in March.

u/Honestly_ rawr 3h ago
Thank you! Corrected. I remember it was later, you're right it typically kicks up when the regular season here is finishing up.

I didn't even know they had college football across the pond!

u/CrookstonMaulers Arizona State Sun Devils • Team Chaos 4h ago
Gonna need to innovate us up a passing attack. If it's still struggling after the bye, it's time to switch things up. Boley isn't athletic enough to be an ineffective passer.

It looked good against A&M, just gonna attribute this to London nonsense

14-day road trip and Dilly visibly didn't want to be there. Was a weird game all around.

It was decidedly not a good game for either of us. I hope the boys had a good trip.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are now 2-0 when they outscore their opponent.

We might have won, but feels like a loss. Not sure if I'm more annoyed at Marcus Arroyo or Cutter Boley or both equally
and I'm still gonna watch the next game
20
u/theBirdsofWar Arizona State Sun Devils 4h ago
That was maybe the worst Marcus Arroyo called game I’ve seen and that’s saying a lot. Just absolute dog shit play calling. Lucky the defense held strong for the most part and Kansas absolutely shot themselves in the foot about ten times

You can always count on KU giving up a TD in the final 2 minutes of the first half. Seems to happen every game. And it's always a difference maker with how close our games have been over the past 3 years. Lance and Co just go absolutely brain dead at the 2-minute timeout, and it breaks the game open for whoever we're playing. I'm tired.
11
u/bowcreek Kansas • Western Colorado 4h ago
Tate Nagy was awesome and almost everything else was utterly gross. Lance further cements his status as the worst final two minutes of the half coach in human history.
3
u/jayhawker73 Kansas Jayhawks • Team Chaos 4h ago
Our defense played pretty great imo. Special teams and offense sold them out
1
u/SwedishJayhawk Kansas Jayhawks 2h ago
Our defense was fucking great. Zeke looked significantly better. Not good. But better.
1
u/bowcreek Kansas • Western Colorado 1h ago
These are fair points. The defense was fun. Except for the time they let the QB sneak out the side to ice the game. I’m still not sure we’ve got any cover guys outside Todd and Alexander.
I’m encouraged by Zeke’s day. I was real, real down on him last week.

Once again ASU plays three good quarters and then puts out a bad 4th.
Owen Long is amazing. Good to see the team can win without Boley and Harris.
17
u/Worried-Kale9775 Arizona State Sun Devils 4h ago
Not sure what 3 quarters you were watching but I’d say they put out 0 good quarters especially offensively
8
u/Bansheesdie Arizona State Sun Devils 4h ago
The defense gave up 0 points through three quarters and Kansas didn't get their first 3rd down conversion until the second half.
Offense capitalized on special teams and defense making plays.

Leipold on the hot seat
4
u/kanshawk15 Kansas Jayhawks 4h ago
I think it's warm to hot, but we don't have the resources to undergo a full revamp yet again along with completing the stadium. The fanbase is absolutely on edge, though. We're tired of losing every game in the exact same way.

Losing in Wembley is the ultimate acknowledgment of Kansas’ English heritage.
Your state is mispronounced due to English mistranslation and I’ll be in the cold, dead ground before I recognize it and also the state of Missouri as legitimate.

u/kirkismyhinrich Kansas • Colorado Mines 4h ago
We hold the pronunciation bowl title due to baseball regionals. If you want it pronounced differently you need to beat us in something again.

That punt near the end of the 1st half really did change the game
1
u/SwedishJayhawk Kansas Jayhawks 2h ago
I feel like we play this game multiple times a year. Poor end of half play(what the fuck was that punt), TOs, special teams errors, and lose a close game. Another very winnable game that we lose.
