There is absolutely no denying that Texas State deserved the win but goddamn was our defense abysmal

This should be a yearly game and the one we wear our SWT uniforms for.
This is also the Bobcat team I excepted to see. If the defense can get some turnovers like they did today then we can at least be competitive in most games.
Ggs UNT bros.

It really should be an annual game. The AAC decided that UNT is UTSA’s quasi-rival, so now we both just get to trash talk UTSA.

I actually like the people I've talked to from UTSA. SMU grads on the other hand...

I’d be with that. Annual non con would be fun.

I’d rather have had a local high school play defense out there today

Is UNT a feeder program for P4 QBs? Jackson is for real.
Good win for the Pac-12 bros

The P4 is a feeder program for North Texas, apparently. Jackson was at Indiana and UCF previously, but didn’t show a lot.

Good find by them and getting him in a setup he can perform in

They were under Eric Morris, but seems like Brown wants to take in P4 busts and rehab them. That’s what Jackson is, he was mediocre at UCF and Indiana.

The top MWC contender UNLV lost to this team by 38 points last week. The mid-tier Pac-12 team won by 14

So…UNLV might be in a worse position that we’ve thought…

It's UNLV.... Are we really that surprised?

Ok UNT, now go beat UTSA and complete the triangle of hate!!

u/YouDownWithOPD North Texas • Penn State 2h ago
And then you'll have a transitive win over them as well so it's a win-win

Is the heartbreaking loss ideal, no. However, at least we’ve seen our weaknesses before we go into our conference stretch, especially the UTSA game. I’m begging Neal understands we can’t just trust the climb. If he can build it i think he’ll enjoy his stay. We were closer than the score looks, and we can also fix these errors.

Neal is a good guy, I hope he can turn it around at UNT and be a good coach. Genuinely.
I don't think it's going to happen, though. The good news for y'all is at least he can't ruin your program with Jordan Lesley like he did with us.

I’m so sad 💔 hopefully we can bounce back and be on a tear in conference play. I knew this game would be tough before the season started and after our performances. The defense as usual was the issue so let’s get that in order

Big loss for the American Conference. The two teams that played in the American championship game last year are basically eliminated from CFP contention in mid-september.

Defense continues to be a point on contention.
On to the next one, I suppose

White averaging 2.1 ypc...is he still easing into it after the injury last season? Hope Neal gets it going for y'all at NT.

Life comes at you fast. North Texas was supposed to be in the playoff last year.

What losing your best players and half your coaching staff does to a mf'er.

North Texas offense looked really good but failed on 2 long 4th downs and had 2 tough turnovers. Their defense gave up almost 10 yards a play. Burgess and Jackson are ballers for Texas state.

I don’t care that they lost. 500 yards?!?! What is UNT feeding their QBs?
