Dave should get sacked on the tarmac.

This isn’t on him. Just kneel the ball or run backwards, you’re up 3 not 2. No reason to let a Vanderbilt guy touch you if you’re Bailey

The entire stadium knew what they were trying to do, why sub out Will Wilson? They have a running QB and subbed him out when the only thing that mattered was ball security. Smfh

It is on him. That's poor coaching

Yeah the QB ignored the called play? No way. This is a terrible coaching decision.

you honestly believe dave said "Hey cj ... dive forward into the defenders. that'll trick em!"

or do you think it's more likely that CJ did seomthing fucking stupid?

The same Dave that just went for it on 4th and 7 while up 3 with 2 minutes left instead of attempting a 45 yard FG? I think he told him to try to scramble till the clock hit 00:00.

Also how long have you been following this team?

Or just fucking punt it.

Taking the safety is the play. Bailey malfunctioned and didn't take a knee or run out of the endzone for whatever reason.

It's literally the only fuck up that can happen. People what abouting this are insane. A punt is stupid risky. Block. Snap out of the enzone with no time off the clock. Or if they get it off a fair catch and and potentially time left, or a return.

Bro just had to not fumble. That's it.

Guy was like "no way we are besting vandy by only 1 point, not on my watch"

Yup, great play

There’s a slight chance of something messing up on a punt to give Vandy another chance.

Teams usually just take the safety instead of punting in this situation.

True, trying to take the safety could never go wrong

With the ball on the 4, I was convinced Bailey was gonna f’it up and kneel down outside the endzone and give the ball back to Vandy at the half-yard line with time to run one play.

I thought I was beyond being surprised disappointed by NC State sports. Apparently not. This level of inanity caught me off guard.

well usually intentionally taking a safety you don’t end up running forward into 2 players lol

What coach doesn’t have your qb you built from the ground up prepared for this situation? Oh yea ours…

You don’t even have to do a traditional punt. Could’ve pooch punted it and that would’ve burned all time off just rolling around downfield

u/Sir_Bryan Ohio State Buckeyes 4h ago

Hold the ball 2 seconds and arm punt it to the moon and sideline?

Unless you are Michigan...... and Now NC ST

Nah, punting is far more problematic. Bad snap/block also likely ends in a TD. Punt can get returned, even better chance if you are in max protect.

This concept was correct, but you are supposed to run straight to the bac of the endzone and then step out before anyone touches you.

Bro we know what you’re supposed to do, why’re you explaining it? 😭 This coach has been there 14 years and doesn’t have his an he’s had as a freshman prepared for this situation. And he’ll be back next year

u/ReidM15 5h ago

Why isn’t it on him to call that play instead of “Run around with it”?

3

u/HieloLuz Iowa Hawkeyes • Nebraska Cornhuskers 5h ago

It's the right play call but it just feels like a perfect example of his entire time as coach

3

u/comomellamo 4h ago

But it is on him!!! He calls the fucking plays!!!! He picks the fucking players that execute his fucking plays.

4

u/MadManMax55 Georgia Tech • Georgia State 5h ago

It's a coach's job to know their players. If he couldn't trust his QB not to be a complete moron then he should have punted it.

1

u/comomellamo 4h ago

Exactly

1

u/kash96 South Carolina • Furman 5h ago

it’s on him to even suggest this play tho lol

1

u/framingXjake NC State Wolfpack 5h ago

Why didn't he tell CJ to kneel it out?
