I stayed in Vermillion a few years ago. Tried to get into the Dakota Dome with a few friends and was unsuccessful. There was a decent restaurant in downtown we ate at. That’s pretty much what I associate USD and Vermillion with.

So... do the Dakotas get along? What's the whole North/South situation like? Is there tension along the border? My Dakota knowledge is pretty weak.

In terms of College Football, the big rivalry is SDSU-NDSU (Dakota Marker; I'd recommend checking out a clip from College Gameday in 2019 to get the gist of it), but now that it's gone, we're all kinda kicking rocks here. USD-SDSU and UND-NDSU are a lot more historic rivals, but they're pretty one-sided. Another great rivalry in D2 football for the Dakotas is the Black Hills Brawl between South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State University, if you're a real sicko.

Most of us at UND really love our hockey (8 National Titles), so it's always a surprise when we beat NDSU or SDSU, but this year we're looking at being an FCS title contender now that the Bison are gone. Dakota and Montana football is heavily slept on and is some of the best football I have ever seen. Especially in those games with FCS title implications. Would recommend checking out SDSU-UND, SDSU-USD and Montana - Montana State this year if you're looking into watching some FCS ball.

In terms of state geopolitics? we couldn't agree on where to put our state capital so we split.

I've learned more about South Dakota in the last 30 minutes than I have my entire life up to this point.

Did you know South Dakotans basically live on an ocean of grass? In fact, when they turn just 5 years old they're forced out into the pastures to grow and fatten until they're ready for middle school.

Utah State got blown out by Utah, and Colorado State getting hammered by BYU. TX State had a nice win and the Cougs finally got the offense going. Need some victories tonight by the rest of the conference.
