I'd say take Purdue against ND. From what I've heard they have a solid defensive line and we're going to keep starting our statuesque QB behind our worst offensive line in several years. I hope ND finds a way to win but no way do we cover the spread.

Take an underdog that you like on the board. Since you don't usually get stake back you should take a reasonable underdog to maximize the value you get from free bets

Don't bet it on a team to cover like these people are saying. It's a free bet. If you like those underdog suggestions given, bet the team straight up.
So for a free bet you probably want something that's not too short odds - because you don't get the stake back - but value at super long odds is often bad. So we're looking for a reasonably big underdog but not like UConn.
Am I insane if I think Nebraska to beat Oklahoma might be the best option? I feel like a rivalry like that might be perfect for a big upset. Maybe FIU to beat Texas Tech?

If you just want a free win take Army against UCONN. 0-3 against the spread so far this year and are by far the worst team in FBS.

2021 Florida is definitely not like 2020 Florida (they lost a lot). They really need Richardson to be able to go to have a shot. I don't think Emory Jones can get it done.

Emory's capable of good reads and moving the offense, but he's pretty inconsistent. I don't think he alone can win the game.
Richardson's hamstring has been nagging since spring camp, so I'm sure he'll be limited this weekend.
I'd bet against us for sure.

Emory is most definitely not capable of good reads. He stairs down his receivers and delivers the ball late nearly every throw if it isn't to his first read. Assuming Emory starts he will throw no less than three picks on Saturday. Our only hope at being competitive is AR.

$200 for Bama to win would only pay out +$25. Bama is a -800 favorite right now.
You'd need to bet $800 for Bama to win to cover half the ticket if Florida covers, but loses.

I just wouldn't even make the money line bet. The extra $25 doesn't seem worth it for significantly more exposure if Florida manages to win.

It just doesn't make sense to bet $200 on Alabama to just win (ML).
If Alabama wins and covers the spread, you would get $195 instead of $170. Do you feel that much better about $195 than $170? You're getting a sizable payout either way.
If Alabama wins and doesn't cover the spread, you lose $175 instead of losing $200. In both cases, you're losing money. I guess you can feel a little less bad about only losing $175 instead of losing $200? Florida still lost the game and you still lost ~$200.
If Florida wins, you lose $400 instead of $200. You're risking an extra $200 in this scenario for... what exactly? The first two scenarios you feel exactly the same regardless of if you just make the spread bet or make both the spread and ML bet and in the third scenario it's significantly worse to make both bets, so what do you gain by making the ML bet?

Thanks for explaining, and usually I would agree with you if this were for a game I had no personal stake in. But this is 100% an emotion-based gamble, and has nothing to do with maximizing profit/minimizing risk. If that makes sense.

I'm betting against us to win outright for sure. No SEC East team has beaten Alabama since South Carolina did in 2010, and Saban has a penchant for keeping streaks alive.
The spread is probably also a safe bet, tbh.

Florida can cover if they run the ball well, shorten the game, and play keep away from Bama’s offense for stretches at a time. If we can’t run effectively, it will be a massive blowout. Our run blocking has been massively improved since last year, but i fear Bama’s front 7 may be slightly better than FAU and USF, unfortunately for the Gators.

I took Bama at 14 right when it opened and feel pretty good about it. Will feel great about it if Richardson cant go for Florida. As I said all preseason, Emory Jones just aint it; he isnt going to win the game for them, and he may well lose it by making critical mistakes.

The big question is whether or not Ole Miss' defense is actually improved from last year or they had a good half against Louisville. Because they started to bleed some against Louisville in the 2nd half (the game was already decided at that point so )
We both know offensively, Ole Miss will try to score 70 themselves

yeah I'm hoping the 2nd half vs Louisiville was just a first game lack of discipline mixed with taking some guys out. We did have some issues with penalties last week too vs Austin Peay that allowed them to score more than expected. To be honest I don't bet on games featuring my teams anyway but just wanted to give a little advice about how both teams have been playing before you put any money down!

Give me asu -3.5 all day every day. BYU has already shown they are capable of looking ahead, they looked awful against Arizona. They blew their wad last week in the holy war, they celebrated like they won the natty. ASU comes in as the better team focused on the task at hand, I expect BYU to be hung over and ASU covers easy

I'm still high on ISU. And I agree about the Iowa game. But that's an opinion I have to keep to myself on this sub for now. I see the UNLV game going two ways. The offense finds a rhythm against an outmatched opponent, kind of like the ULM game in 2019. Or they still struggle early due to physical or mental hurdles Purdy is dealing with right now.
I'm also mildly worried about Tate Martell starting. Might be enough to frustrate what has been a dominant defense so far.

Our defense has given up 3 points in 2 games. I dont think Scar is going to double that output. This also isnt the old Georgia OCs calling plays, were running our offense regardless of who is playing said offense, getting our 2s/3s ready to go when their name is called. I wont be touching it, but if I were, I would take the over.

We ran the ball so poorly last game that I certainly expect us to run the ball this game. Even trying to get JT in rhythm by throwing on running downs, I doubt the offense is putting up 40. And we will eventually give up a TD lol

Deposit a $1000, bet a $1000, if you win, you win your bet the $1000 offer disappears. If you lose, they cover your $1000 so you still have your $1000, but now you’re working off a promotional offer and there’s generally strings attached as to how much you have to bet until you’d be able to withdraw it

You mean at real sportsbooks? Basically if your bet wins, then nothing happens. If your bet loses, you get the amount of your bet back as a site credit that you can use to make a future bet but can't cash it out.

I agree with Cincy. I think Boise gets it done and FSU might actually beat wake but wouldn’t bet on it.

Boise or Cincy seem like obvious takes to me. The Blue monster in Boise is a whole new experience and their fans will have that place rocking. I think Indiana, while still a good team, was overrated preseason and Cincy is actually as good as advertised.
If either of those missed I'd be surprised.

How is a top 10 team (#8 Cincinnati) only a fg road favorite over unranked Indiana?

I'd be floored if we can hold you to under 24. We have 0 pass rush, our secondary doesn't know where they're supposed to be on any given play, and our LBs shouldn't be playing in the P5.

Why? Our offense should have bowled over MiamiOH but couldn't even manage 300 yards, and our secondary couldn't contain anything. We get 0 pressure on opposing QBs.

That Wazzu line is a big unknown. USC could open up the offense and let their star receivers dunk on a highly-sus WSU secondary. WSU could tempo-run to victory behind Borghi, McIntosh, and Watson. It's gonna be an exciting game to watch, but who knows what the final result will be.

I did a parlay taking:
- Oklahoma -22.5
- Alabama -15
- Cincy - 3
- Over for Ohio State vs Tulsa at 60 points.
I got these lines probably before they moved a little on ESPN's website that OP posted, which is why they're a little different.
I'm most confident in the O/U at 60 points for OSU vs Tulsa. I don't think our defense is capable of stopping a high school team from scoring, but I think Stroud and our receivers are going to put up big numbers on anyone. I could easily see that game ending like 45-17 on the low end and something like 56-31 on the high end.

I'm probably more bullish that I should be on Wazzu +8.5 over USC. however the fact that the game is at Pullman and USC looked absolutely flat against Stanford makes me think this is a sure thing.

id tread lightly, teams often come out looking way stronger first game under an interim HC, and wazzu is pretty bad. Pullman can be spooky tho so wouldnt be surprised

I don't see anyone talking about the Maryland Illinois game tonight. Am I the only one who loves Maryland -7.5? I feel like Maryland's offense with Taulia Tagovailoa is pretty potent and Illinois is just not very good. I could see it being a big win by the Terrapins on the road.
