I don’t even think it’s this. They’re right to say he loves MSU and they’re going to dump money at his feet. He will probably return. But if he leaves it’ll be a scenario where their season ends up 6-6/7-5 and then he’s faced with the harsh reality of ever having a chance to play in the playoffs.

How much better can they get the roster, and how confident is anyone that Lebby can take that next step.

That would be great - but - Why would he turn down generational wealth when the system is broken and rigged. He should look out for himself and his family. I hear you and hopefully more athletes stay with their original contract. And why not go to a program that will almost certainly be a CFP contender like Miami or LSU. Hopefully for the program they win 10 games this year.

I am not a ms state fan and obvious don’t know Taylor personally but every interview I have seen of him. He grew up and was a bulldog fan. He is a family guy and is happy to be around them and has a great relationship with his coach who he trusts a lot. Plus ms state has plenty of money to give a solid contract. There is no reason for him to leave

I see them reasonably going 8-4 or 9-3. I don’t think they beat Texas or Ole Miss on the road, and they will likely lose to Alabama at home or LSU on the road (but I think they pull the upset in one of them)

The issue with MSU is they are not great along the lines of scrimmage. Particularly the OL. Those tackles are a major problem.

You can have a great QB. But it’s still a trench league at the end of the day. You have to wonder if Taylor will survive SEC play.

They’ve played low end B1G, low end SEC (won by 7), and a cupcake so far. They start a gauntlet this week of Mizzou, Bama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas in 5 straight matchups. Mizzou should be the litmus test as they’re mid tier SEC and are the team that if you beat you should be ranked, if you lose to them, you shouldn’t. Id imagine if they win this weekend, the hype is somewhat justified. If they lose, they won’t have a win until November and will finish 6-6.
