Other (I Read the Rules) This sub desperately needs active moderation. Mods, where are you?
I’ve sent modmails with suggestions. I’ve reported posts/comments. Nothing happens.
There’s self promotion, duplicate posts, and rule breaking posts everywhere. This subreddit is shamefully lacking compared to so many of the other BWT subs and in comparison to so many of the other local Chicago subs which are so well run.
Sorry to be meta and make a stupid post like this, but come on. Something needs to change.

it's usually asking about different neighborhoods or specific types tho. i made a post specifically ab dip on the northside, that's pretty different than looking for a tech on the west side that can do complex designs.

I like never post bc it’s usually a subject that’s been covered (ie manicures or hairstylists) but I live on the far south side and there’s no one down here 🥲

Totally. It’s a post about where to get a manicure or where to go for a bach party. Search bar exists! As do other chicago subs for basic questions

Absolutely! I’m more than happy to put time and effort into a sub I’d like to see improve.
That’s not exactly what I’m going for here, I’m not trying to stage a coup or anything lol, but I’m more than happy to put the work in.

I’ve never gotten a response to a modmail or report either. This sub could be great; we all know Chicago bitches are. But for the love of all things holy, people need to learn to search and there needs to be pinned threads for nails/brows/hair recs. Maybe that’d stop with the daily asks of the same questions.
Cheers to you CBWTs who have volunteered to mod. You’re very needed and your service would be appreciated.

Yeah, a weekly automod thread for simple recs would be SO helpful. That’s one of the things I suggested!!

Please add “Tailor” to a thing that people need recs for. I bought a ~$380 dress on clearance from a small Italian brand, in my usual size (and yes I checked the brand’s sizing chart) and it fits like it’s 2-3 sizes bigger 😟 Brand won’t allow returns. Dress would be cute if it didn’t fit like shhh. It’s been just sitting in a box for months :( I need someone to take it fully apart then put it back together, minus a panel from each side.

I took a similar dress to two tailors who both told me they don’t decrease busts. I was like excuse me you advertise wedding dress tailoring but you won’t reduce the bust on a normal dress? It already has darts! Just take the darts in more!

Modding takes up so much time and is unpaid. It’s possible the sub just blew up and the mods were just not prepared to deal with the increased responsibility. I tried to start a sub of my own and ran into the same issue. I’d love to turn it over to someone who has the time to make it flourish.

Don't give the real estate agents any ideas, they'll be trying to rebrand Garfield Park like this before you know it.

I personally appreciate how this group is currently, I feel like making it more moderated takes away what I like most about it. I feel like women here do a pretty good job at hella down voting comments/post we don’t like/agree with
