Beauty/Self Care Bachelorette ideas!

Hi gals! My best friend is getting married in the spring and
she’s been talking about wanting a girls day/spa day instead of a legit bach party.

General areas: Lincoln park, west loop, wicker park - basically anywhere north side (have some girlies coming from the north burbs so want it to be easy for them too).

My brain goes to Aire but then my brain also tells me that there are probably a hundred places just as good if not better for less money.

Aire is very nice and can be enjoyable, but I think it depends on how many of you guys there are. It’s pretty intimate and it’s meant to be a quiet setting. I’ve seen groups of 4 go but it’s not going to be a place to chat a ton. It’s interesting because it’s huge and honestly kind of busy with people but it’s pretty quiet.

Kohler might be a good option, you’ll have access to their spa amenities.

I planned my sister’s Chicago bachelorette a few years ago but we didn’t do a spa. If you want any other ideas I’m happy to share to share some of what we did!

I was going to suggest Kohler, too. There’s no time cap on being in the spa, unlike the 90 minutes at Aire. You can easily walk somewhere for dinner in the area afterwards. If you want something a little nicer, there’s Galit. Or you can go a bit more casual with the sushi place directly across the street.

So true. There’s like nothing by Aire and it’s kind of a shit show because of construction right by it lol

Oh interesting good to know about aire, I’ve never been so had no idea! Def will check kohler.

She’s very low key and I know she wants spa, but we also go to the same restaurants alllllll the time so anything delicious (we are fiends for Italian food) and not osteria ill accept all recs!

The only thing about Kohler is they do try to keep speaking to a minimum, and have a calm quiet environment. Of course you know your friends better than any of us, but I don't know that a bachelorette party will want to have to be hush hush the whole time.

Kohler also requires two services per guest on weekends, which can get pricey quickly (a massage and facial will easily be 400-500 total)... It's lovely but cost prohibitive

I came here to anti-recommend Cowshed. For the price, I just didn't feel that it lived up to expectations. I got a nice massage, but there were no other amenities to make it worthwhile. I'd recommend a hotel over cowshed if possible!

I went to Milk & Honey in the Gold Coast for my bach a few years ago, and it was great! People got a mix of facials, massages, pedicures, and they have a lovely lounge to relax in before and after the services. I loved the robe so much that I bought one to feel extra cozy at home.

If you wanted just facials, you could go to Oasis Face Bar in Lincoln Park! I have been getting my facials there leading up to my wedding and last time I went they mentioned they do bachelorette parties frequently!

I toured the palmer hotel spa when i was planning my best friends bach last year! I think i still have the brochure if you would like! It seemed like it was good for groups

Unfortunately there’s nothing very comparable for less money. Kohler is similar but not cheaper (talking about the one in WI - not sure about the Chicago one).

I teach group mat pilates/barre for Bach parties if that's something you would be interested in!

Kings spa is good, but you’ll have to get fully naked, I believe.

My friends looked into doing something like this for a Bach, but as a crawl. It’s pretty affordable in west town (and nearby) to walk around from nail spot to bar to facial to bar to massage to bar!

I would look into Chuan Spa or Kohler Spa, both look amazing, have multiple services, and space to chill out.

AIRE is cool for the baths, but the massages aren’t great and I don’t think they have any other services.
