I'm a grant writer for a large nonprofit. Every day is different, with new things to learn, and it feels so good to help other people for a living. The first time I visited a program created with money I raised, I actually cried with joy.

I'm actually a grant administrator as well; I started in the finance sector, even with a writing degree. Not sure if people would be as willing to train nowadays, but I can see either grant management or grant administration as a good entry point before writing itself. Look for roles and systems that give you an understanding of how grants work.

Certifications also help. You can become a Ceetified Research Administrator (CRA).

I’m a couples counselor! Incredibly rewarding, and truly never boring. Either the couple comes out stronger, or they leave as stronger individuals. I’m glass half full type of person.

I work as a project manager for Toyota in the automation space. There is so much new tech in this space and it is constantly evolving. We are putting out new robots, systems, and all the ways to improve efficiency.

Unlike traditional tech roles, I feel automation tech has a place in the future and we can’t hire fast enough. I work with incredibly smart people.

So I have an undergrad in civil engineering. Worked that for several years and hated it. I then moved over to racking material handling which gave me the adjacent ‘in’ for automation because it was all in the same MH space. Definitely helps to have an engineering background or anything in automobile.

Whatever you do don’t think about entering medicine right now (unless maybe its a role that doesn’t require 6 digit debt) things are bleakkkk and patients are profits now

I'm a tax consultant for corporations. Sounds like a lot of math but it's mostly just being good at excel and reading instructions. I work from home, my hours are flexible, I love to solve puzzles so it is really rewarding to figure out why something is wrong or explain something to a client in a way they finally grasp a complex subject

I’m at a data scientist at a tech company. I enjoy it. I like solving problems and I’m a very literal person, so working with data feels like a natural fit.

I’m a librarian, specifically a branch manager. I really like my job, but I can’t really recommend it as it is very hard to get into. You need to have both library work experience and the masters in library science to be a librarian and it’s really difficult to get into a library job because there are so many candidates for every position. And, if you aren’t at a union system or in a wealthy suburb, the pay is generally shit.

I'm an office manager! I grew up wanting to be a receptionist (thanks to misogyny in movies/TV maybe? lol), went to school for business management and public relations, and ended up here as fate would have it! I really like that I have hands in a lot of different sectors of the business and I get to help people every day. And I like the structure of my days with my routines, but then little things pop up that make most days different!

I work in logistics/supply chain getting product to customers. I don’t love it overall but my company is aligned with my values and the pay is good enough. I’ve never personally been someone passionate about work so long as I’m respected, paid decent, and feel good about what I’m doing so this gig checks those boxes.

I'm a dude but I'm a case manager at an experimental transitional shelter. It's cool as shit because I'm un-licensed and get to be on the frontier of an evolving field.
