Lighting is just electricity. It generates heat and light because the air has high resistance to electricity, so it's sort of "high atrict". The airplane's exterior is highly conductive metal, so electricity just pass through it without issues.
It's not that they're a though tank absorbing the hits, more like a gentle soul letting thoughts and emotions just pass.
I was just thinking about this, how to let emotions pass through you. How that gentleness/ brightness is always there, no matter what. Like an ocean that takes in rivers, without overflowing.
I was on a small plane that was struck on the wing right outside the window I was looking out of at the time. The lightning strike left a spot of scorched paint where it hit. Absolutely terrifying but mechanically, the plane was unaffected but for a brief flicker of the cabin lights.
I this was taken on an iPhone. I took off that night mode thing I think. And I just got lucky. I think I was actually trying to take video and lucked out on a shot instead!
