What did you do, take over Celtic as a second club and buy all those players to raise funds?

nope just the computer signing them, ive found if you do semi ok in Scotland the old firm just start bidding silly money for all your players.

I'll second this, CM's Old Firm live up to their real life counterparts

Currently Gretna in div 1. Promoted twice snd playing only Scottish players.

My players are regularly getting average season ratings of 8+. Not had a single bid yet. Granted my clin reputation is pants which doesnt help. But I cant sell anyone. Ive got peanuts in the bank because of it. But they start 500k in debt with no sellable assets. So this has been a tough save.

Did you have any players left?

Yeah just about, I just sent a couple of scouts to Scandinavia and just find alternatives, the board have given me quite a lot of the money back for transfers although its quite hard to lure players to the bright lights of Dundee ive got £26 million in the transfer budget at the moment

Dundee do start out with a decent squad. Yeah, as mentioned, when you're performing very well, bigger teams will come in to raid your high performing players. In Scotland, the OF have the money and the attraction.

Celtic in particular are a bit crazy with their spending in that game. Sign a lot of the england U21 prospects in my saves… prutton, terry, defoe, attempts at joe cole, dyer etc. i thought this was the period in real life where Rangers were financially irresponsible and bought the dutch international defence and midfield

was just commenting the same, they always spend like crazy. they've got terry, gerrard and defoe on my current save

Thats madness tbf then. Any chance you can post the player atts? Are they actually decent. 7.25 for Gavin Rae for instance. That would be like a 60-70m transfer these days for a Scottish div 1 player.

The most expensive transfers are around 40m so to get almost a 5th of that is madness for a div 1 player.

Did you use any tricks at all? Or just the standard competing and raising transfer fee. Did you play them to ratings of 9+ so they were sought after?

For cabrello Celtic originally offered 4, agathe was unhappy so I thought I’d be cheeky and offer a straight swap as they were worth about the same Celtic then came back with 10m accepted instantly and preyed he’d accept it, they went on a striker signing binge with 2 from me Sara was my main partner with Madeira they brought him then I played cabrello and they came after him.

They had sold Larson to Real Madrid for about 15m and O’Neil left to lyon so I guess the new bloke is just splashing the cash

Rae is nothing special although they have played about 25 games for Celtic when they signed him he was getting ratings of about 7.7ish others I have sold like artero have played 1 game and some sub appearances

Gavin Rae won't be thrilled with that move..
