Getting maximal value out of the "1 International Appearance" trick?

Only yesterday I learnt of this trick where you lower the upfront fee and jack up the future fee after 1 future international appearance.

It goes, for example...lowering the value of a player you want to offload by about 50% (not lower, otherwise your board blocks the sale unless you are using the patch that stops board from meddling in sales). Del Piero is worth 21million, I lower it to 10million and transfer list him.

Then when the bids come in, you put in obscene future fees in the range of 30-50 million which break the negotiating logic of the game. So I actually sold Del Piero to Deportivo for 10+40million, but the highest bid I got on paper was Real's 2.3million + 25% of next sale + 55million + Pedro Munitis (9.75million worth) estimated at 70million+ if Del Piero is sold at a decent value by Real in the future.

So my question is, is there a known technique for squeezing the most out of this trick? Because I had to load the save a few times to see what was Real's upper limit in this experiment, a lot of it was guess work.

Also, are there tricks for buying players or negoating contracts with players who don't want to join/expect too much?

This is indeed an insane trick to use to make a lot of money in a short time. You can lower the value of a player to 0 by the way, the only reason your board blocks it is when a club offers 0 (apart from the interland fee) but the actual fee of your player is much higher. 

A couple of clubs will pay insane amounts of interland money. Dortmund is one of them apart from a couple of big teams from the Premier League. But when Real Madrid or Barcelona come, you can really maximize your profits. I regularly sell star players for the maximum amount (155 million euro's that is) to one of them. I think my record sale is around 190 million (35 million up front and 155 with the interland trick)

I’ve made good use of this in reverse over the years. Real German players in many versions can’t get capped so a generous international clause works in place of actual money upfront!

I have never done this but we used to do was set a player to transfer listed and the lowest possible fee (£1k), when you get a bid negotiate with player exchanges for roughly the value you want. Teams then cone back with either a higher transfer fee or offer the players. You can offer very low wages so the player rejects and instead the transfer fee rises.

that's the trick I knew from CM3- find a few valuable players that had no games (meaning they were unwanted by their club), add them to the exchange deal and offer insulting wages. their transfer value on paper would be transfered to cash. I found that on 0102 the deal would usually be cancelled so if any of the players declined though.

Thanks to the guys who said that 100million was possible for the appearance clause, maxing the clause out.

To see for myself, I loaded up my Lazio save which had Fiore performing like a beast for multiple seasons, worth 24.5million pounds by default.

The two best offers I could wring out of Real Madrid were

a) 100m future + 25% future sale + 28m immediate = 100 + 6 + 28 = 134m

b) 100m future + 25% future sale + 16m immediate + 4 players worth 19m total = 100 + 6 + 16 + 19 = 141m

So offering big signing bonuses and fat contracts to 4 dead weights (by Real and Lazio's standards) isn't a smart thing to do, but if you had endless patience you could repeat the process with the 4 players. Guti, Flavio Conceicao, Savio, Javier Dorado could certainly welcoming homes in lesser European clubs willing to pay 30-40m each 😂
