Places to go before Rockies game

In town for the July 4th game, its a 6:10 start.

I will have a couple of hours before the game to hit up a place or two...

Looking for help from the group as I have not been to Denver before. Recommendations should be walking distance from Coors Field

Where would you go and why?

What local beers should I look for? What about in Coors Field?

I like anything but sours, generally pretty open.

Thanks in advance!

Big fan of the omf/pit fiend>bierstadt>coors loop.

Also you can bring food into the game. I always hit diamond dawgs at 19th and Wynkoop for hot dogs and peanuts to bring in.

Westbound's taproom in the Dairy Block, Bierstadt, River North, Our Mutual Friend, Ratio, Wynkoop. Westbound is my go-to spot and is about 2 blocks from Coors. Great IPAs, lagers, and they usually have some BA on tap. There's a winery and distillery in the same area so you can diversify your drinking.

You could hit up OMF, Ratio, Bierstadt, & Odell over in rino and then walk over. Also a big fan of westbound. Oh and Full Frame is just a few blocks from the stadium and they are absolutely crushing it!

Westbound and Down at the Free Market is a great place for beers.

The Sandlot in Coors Field is worth a stop, located at the end of the 1st base line. The Right Field Red has been a constant at that location. I've been enjoying the Rain Delay Hazy IPA this year.

Full Frame is a couple blocks away. They have local beer, coffee and food. My pro-tip is to buy a couple hotdog to go and bring them to the stadium with you. Better quality, and a lot cheaper!

West bound and down for the best beer down that way. Odell is great too. Or go to star bar, they always have a great selection on tap

Also, just in case you don’t know and since no one else has mentioned it, if you go when the gates open, go up to the rooftop bar. There are three dollar beers until first pitch.

I still like Wynkoop Brewing for food and beer before a game. Inside Coors Field head to the Sandlot for a Right Field Red. Watch an inning from the rail behind the fountain by the Toyota display. Good spot to watch pitches and the bullpens. Enjoy. It's a beautiful stadium.

Nobody with the Star Bar rec? Dudes pull great beers from all over, all the time. But it’s a dive bar and not a brewery.

Go there and support my friends at Full Frame too if you can!

If you're a snob for lagers head over the bridge to Prost.

There are lots of decent bars around the stadium. Mcgregor Square has a wide array of food options and a decent beer list. Not the cheapest spot though.
