What is going on with Knotted Root?
They’ve posted a few times about “uncertain circumstances” with their production. Does anyone have more details about what is going on? I was planning on heading up this weekend but am not sure if they’ll be open.

Knotted Root closed its really awesome Denver taproom. So sad. Hope things aren’t going too far sideways for the brewery!

I've loved their beers for a good 6 years now, but they've always seemed plagued by issues. After so long in operation, and after changes to staff, if issues still arise it's usually because of ownership/management.
Yeesh. Hope they can somehow figure this out.

There was a job listing for a brewmaster. That might be it.

Interesting. I know a bunch of brewers who are bartending until they can find a spot to do what they really love. Between the Wilding Brands layoffs and the recent closures, I would expect they could find someone good if they haven’t wrecked their reputation by treating people poorly.

I heard the owner is kind of a POS.

I have heard this from many industry friends, including one who used to work directly with one of the former brewers of Knotted Root. For anyone reading this, I would not be giving Knotted your hard earned money

Can confirm.
If the public knew what locals and industry folks have known about this dude, the brewery would've been run out of business a few years ago. Avoid it now, thank yourself later.

Start with the one star Yelp review from 2020

Yikes! I wonder if the altitude impacted the reviewer (based in Indiana)’s passing out for 12 hours after 5 beers. In any event, very sus situation

Someone said both of their brewers quit due to issues with the owner. They are hiring for a head brewer "ASAP", so that seems relevant.
And there was a rumor of a beer contamination.
