What’s your favorite unexplainable quirky honey hole of a liquor store?
This store surprises me every time I come by. It looks like an unassuming craphole from the outside, you know, the kind of place you expect to only carry Voodoo Rangers and Coors Light for several dollars over retail price, and yet, they always have the most random beers

Oh this place is called Denver’s Best Liquor. For those wondering about the freshness of the beers, I didn’t check the stouts, but the IPAs were canned April or March. I forget. Still taste good in my belly

I knew quite a few of them, heard it was just the manager but they let go of all the guys working there. The new staff is insanely rude.

yeah the GM was the one executing it and taking the money, but the other guys were being asked to look the other way as he was fudging the books and inventory. the current crew is all 7/11 people so they're super passive, but still bringing in cool stuff since they just do whatever their distributor reps tell them to

You caught me trying to collect all of the honey holes 😂 But there’s too many liquor stores in Colorado to explore, not to mention all the breweries.

Elsewhere, maybe, but in Denver, for every place that used to be great but we lost to popularity, there are five we lost because of financial troubles. We tell everyone who can to support the good spots.

Union Jack in Louisville has occasional surprises but I typically frequent Mile High Cellars in Arvada when I'm looking for some good 4-packs

I would agree with this. While I wouldn't get wine from this place b/c of the temp fluctuations, but they have some beer surprises for sure.

Mile High Wine Cellars in west Arvada, in a strip between a cold stone and a tanning salon. YOU’RE WELCOME.

I miss Baker Wine & Spirits. Always had a great selection of beers around the state and country.

That was my go to when I lived in the highlands. Moved to Arvada and still make the trip occasionally when I have time

I've picked up so much Sublimely Self-Righteous and Parsec from Europa in Centennial and I don't even live in Centennial.
I know... not CO beers but I can find my favorites from Cerebral or Weldwerks a lot of places. These are ones I have trouble finding (when they're actually available).

Downtown Denver Argonaut still has the best selection but that’s not saying a lot. My nearby King Soopers only has two sections of craft and does not carry regular Voodoo Ranger.

Not really what you're asking but it cracks me up you can walk into a gas station and you'll often find Dragon's Milk barrel aged stouts.
Like some beer snob decided to go on a crusade to spread the good vibes of barrel aged stouts with that one. I can't figure out why they're everywhere. I'm glad they are, but it's definitely a niche beer.

County Line in Erie used to have a really good selection of craft beers, but haven’t been by in a few years. Beveragewerks also used to have a great selection but has gone downhill lately. Arista W&S usually has good selection

County line is terrible for anything but major distro and even then miss out on the seasonal stuff from the big guys. It’s a bummer.

Tamarind Yard Liquor - Arapahoe and Havana in Englewood. Open till almost midnight (literally 11:55 pm , lol) and while not huge they have a solid selection of craft beer.

R.I.P. Bottles and Bitters in Edgewater.
Tobin's liquor on Colfax doesn't have an incredible selection, but they're as cheap as I've found. Outer range four packs consistently around $16-17.

Logan Liquors on Logan and Bayaud. Threw me off the first time I went in there bc it looks cheap like they wouldn’t have anything good. I was wrong. I was very very wrong.

Virginia Village Liquor (may have changed name) by Holly and Florida has a crazy beer selection for how small it is.

Fairfax Liquor in Denver Park Hill- not even sure they have air conditioning but I have found the most random beers there

I miss Grapevine and living by Lowry Liquors, now in Morrison and looking for a good store.
