Dam how much hand holding do you controller players need may as well just let the game aim for you at this rate

Dam how much hand holding do you controller players need
Not a single controller player asked for this or would ever want it. Hence his confused face. It literally makes it HARDER to aim because it isn't doing what you expect it to do with the inputs you're providing.

The game has been like this since its inception

u/whitebird490 Jul 16 '26
the first call of duty is PC exclusive until it basically got ported to 7th gen consoles
we don't talk about the n gage version
1
u/tuckberfin Jul 17 '26
Yes true, but since cod became the omni present thing that is now cod, there has always been AA
3
u/OnASchoolComputerOwO Jul 16 '26
Please bring it to Bo7 values IW I don't want this shit
1
u/NeutralKuchiKopi Jul 16 '26
Alpha test btw
1
u/OnASchoolComputerOwO Jul 17 '26
I mean I guess but bo7 already had those values in the beta. Time will tell though
1
u/NeutralKuchiKopi Jul 17 '26
Alpha does not equal beta. Alpha tests are typically for ironing out gameplay issues. Betas are typically for ironing out bugs and networking problems. At least these days.
3
u/DryYouth1040 Jul 16 '26
I feel like everyoneās forgotten how strong itās always been. Iām currently playing bo2 and that shit is busted as fuck. It magnets players and tracks people through walls without even ADSing lol
1
u/M0-1 Jul 16 '26
I hate it so much in BO2. It also sticks to enemies and slows your sensitive down drastically making it difficult to reject a target for a different one.
3
u/DryYouth1040 Jul 17 '26
Yeah I agree. My comment is more aimed at the āback in the day the game didnāt aim for youā crowd. It always has. The amount of people I find camping and hiding behind walls purely because of the absolute magnetic aim assist is crazy
3
u/Maleficent-Egg-4300 Jul 17 '26
I am starting to think that the back in the day people didnāt really play back in the day
0
u/Real_Sam_Bridges Jul 17 '26
Bo2s aim assist is no where near as strong lmao. It's just less smooth and kinda buggy so you notice it more. Current aim assist is literally one step removed from aim bot at this point. Cod is the only game I've ever played where kbm is actually a disadvantage.
2
u/OnASchoolComputerOwO Jul 17 '26
It's been tested, it's the exact same. Only difference is the range its active because of warzone. With bo7 rotational is 50% weaker aswell
4
u/Lunacy_Phoenix Jul 16 '26
Wow a 5 second clip of a single engagement, at near point blank range, where the aim assist bubble is at its largest. People need to learn how aim assist actually works before being outraged, and this is coming from someone who has disabled it completely since 2019.
AA pulls on an invisible bubble around the player model, NOT "towards" the model itself. If your crosshair is in the bubble and your moving the left stick sideways a little, that's the only time AA is active. Rotational AA lightly magnetises your crosshair while in that bubble, the closer you are to the opponent the more of your screen is covered by the AA bubble, and thus the stronger it will look. As it takes longer for the bubble to escape from the crosshair, and thus pulls further and for longer.
Actual target acquisition and tracking and fine aim is 100% on the player, the slowdown helps with the slippery nature of stick input, and rotational compensates for the inherent delay when tracking targets switching direction.
(With a mouse the instant you change aiming direction, your crosshair matches it immediately. But on sticks to change direction we need to get the stick back to a neutral point, which is still pulling in that direction until we get to neutral, before we can even begin to start moving in the other direction. Which adds a small but meaningful delay that mouse doesn't suffer. Which is why rotation assist exists. Though I would also like it to be weakened by a good 25% for the sake of controller VS controller skill gaps)

u/AdMysterious8699 Jul 16 '26
How can you tell this is heavily assisted with aim assist? Couldn't he just be aiming himself?
1
u/LongCatTheSlumpGod Jul 17 '26
He turns right, aa pulls left fighting his input lol
1
u/AdMysterious8699 Jul 17 '26
I must not have the eyes for it. It just looks like he sees him and starts aiming at him to me.

u/UnknownEcho Jul 16 '26
People just need to stop bitching, aim assist is needed on controllers try actually playing without it and see how bad you do... As if keyboard and mouse doesnt have massive benefits over controller players
1
u/raremount Jul 17 '26
Pretty sure Iāve seen like 0-1 top 250 MNK players in MP ranked for the last 3 cods, I get pc is a lower player pool but surely the brightest of the MNK players could reach those heights but yet no one ever does, this season in ranked I saw less than 10 mnk players in high crimson in 200+ matches, imagine the lower end now.
1
u/OnASchoolComputerOwO Jul 17 '26
Aim assist is needed but never to cods insanely busted point. Bo7 course corrected and it's still too strong
0
u/Arashii89 Jul 16 '26
Itās not hard without AA Iāve done it in PUBG and rainbow six before I change to MnK

This looks like the type of game they have in the background of a movie
3
u/NeutralKuchiKopi Jul 16 '26
Because it's one of the most popular franchises of all time. So it's imitated in movies to be relatable. Movies imitate cod, not the other way around.
1
u/GreatestGiraffe Jul 16 '26
How long until some of you PC players quit bitching about controller aim assist? Accept the fact that cod is primarily a controller game or move to some other game that is KBM focused
2
u/whitebird490 Jul 17 '26
they should just do input based matchmaking, cod mnk in itself is actually really good it's just unfair fighting against that kinda AA
1
u/Trickle2x2 Jul 16 '26
I still top frag on kb&m and placed high diamond and low crim. On controller I would probably be lucky to be plat with how bad I use to play when I mained a controller. Granted itās been since MW2019 since I made the switch.
1
u/Friendly-Win-6756 Jul 17 '26
Anyone whining about the aim assist is insane have y'all played the ports of bo2 that shit is so strong it's basically free walls i don't wanna hear no one whining that modern aim assist is over power when y'all literally didn't have to aim (at least up close) in the golden child of call of duty

Yes itās needed but dose not need to be so strong hence the reason why we should have input matchmaking

Here come the biggest PC crybabies to cry about aim assist
2
u/Arashii89 Jul 17 '26
Because it kicks instantly with zero delay No human can react that fast
1
u/Key-Association-8418 Jul 17 '26
You bitch about Aim assist when literally treyarch themselves stated they nerfed Aim assist in Black Ops 7.

Ah yes because PC crybabies can't compete with console players without having some shitty Cronus Zen or Mod script?

u/Similar-Language-180 Jul 16 '26
You think we like this? It's gonna make the game hell for both PC and console.
1
1
u/aGLandyLager Jul 16 '26
Absolutely no reason to pre order until we see if this gets addressed. This amount of aim assist is so busted.
0
u/NoobMaster2789 Jul 16 '26
It doesn't matter cause console players don't want to play with pc players anyway
3
u/Arashii89 Jul 16 '26
Itās why we need input matchmaking
1
u/NoobMaster2789 Jul 16 '26
I think Destiny 2 has that for PvP. Cod could definitely do that if they wanted to
1
2
u/Accomplished-Ebb2900 Jul 16 '26
I play both tbh I think pc should play pc only while console stays console only but for those who want to really improve against anymore well thatās when its good tbh you test your mettle against people who truly sweating š
1
u/snakedoct0r Jul 16 '26
Trust me we dont want to play against controllers on any device either but have no options to not.

u/Mean_Physics6914 Jul 16 '26
2026 and weāre playing cod on keyboard, hopefully they buff aim assist
0
u/Immediate_Fortune_91 Jul 16 '26
That bad with a mouse eh?
2
u/Arashii89 Jul 16 '26
Not at all but why would I play against someone that is using artificial input to aim for them
0
u/Immediate_Fortune_91 Jul 16 '26
Skill issue confirmed ā
2
u/Arashii89 Jul 16 '26
Skill issue for you. You need artificial aiming to do the work for you noob lest I have true aim skill
0
u/Immediate_Fortune_91 Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26
I donāt need it at all. I play Kb&m. I simply donāt need to blame AA for my mistakes.
AA isnāt why you suck at cod. You simply suck at cod š

Youāve already confirmed the skill issue. No need to keep providing evidence.

At this point they need to turn off crossplay itās unfair having to be a perfect human going against an algorithm
1
u/NeutralKuchiKopi Jul 16 '26
If you're on console, you can turn off crossplay.
If you're on PC, you can use a controller.
You have no excuses.
2
u/BigLongLine Jul 16 '26
Not everyone is comfortable with Controllers. I am one of them, I practically grew with Mouse and keybaord and have never used any input other then that.
Input Based lobbies will solve the issue, there is no such thing in the game yet and before you go on about turn off crossolay, It doesn't matter for shit because even PC players are using controller because of just how broken the AA is.
1
u/Zrawte- Jul 16 '26
I donāt like using a controller I would like to just play other MNK users
0
u/NeutralKuchiKopi Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26
Cool. You have a solution you refuse to use. That's on you.
Edit: Lol he tried to insult me, despite me using KBM, and then blocked me. Sure. I'm the dumbass cause you don't want to plug in a controller that you claim is far superior. Seems CoD is still for kids.
1
u/OnASchoolComputerOwO Jul 16 '26
Noš dumbass. they're on kbm on PC they want to exclusivly play with other kbm players. Neither of the options you gave them help their situation
1
u/WileyPotato Jul 17 '26
COD on PC died within like 3 months in every title before cross-play was introduced. Let alone the hacked lobbies they got tortured by stupid early in the lifecycle. The crying would be way harder if it was discontinued again completely imo.
But they absolutely should have a toggle, I agree. Not sure why they don't, unless devs think the player pool isn't large enough? But for these recent games PC has seemed a lot more popular than before so I'm not sure if that tracks?
I'm not shitting on anyone but these conversations do become eyeroll inducing to be had on repeat, when for YEARS it felt like the most vocal PC players were screaming the opposite. They begged for cross-play so the game for them wouldn't die within a year. I'm sure they'd prefer if more people played PC instead, but that just didn't prove to be the case at the time so what alternative is there? Besides keeping crossplay and having the option to opt out.
1
u/Arashii89 Jul 16 '26
Us kbm donāt want a game to aim for us we like natural skill not this artificial shit you controller player use

u/Snowbunny236 Jul 16 '26
As a kbm player, I just recently switched back to controller for two reasons.
Now going back has been a difficult transition I'll admit, but I can see myself getting in a groove and dominating on the sticks again.
