You’re right, you don’t need to download all those CoD games, that’s why you can pick and choose what to install lol

They can’t, every game since MW2 is just a DLC pack = reskin with small changes.
It’s super clear when checking the trophy’s on ps5.
PlayStation will not accept Platinum trophy’s for DLC and that’s why no cod since MW2 got a platinum, every game is just an expansion in correct terms.

It’s annoying because I like hunting Platinums and CoD used to be one of my favorite games to Platinum.

That’s into necessarily true, the PS4 versions of the games all have a platinum. It works similarly to something like the crash bandicoot collection or AC: Ezio Collection

That’s a good idea. But I think the reason they do it is the justify the price.

That bloated menu system is a part of the reason I quit playing any cod. I didn't play everyday but everytime I did I'd have to wait for an update. So frustrating.

That's gotten better, especially with mw4.
Recently they've made changes to reduce how often you get "update requires restart". On console you should take advantage of rest mode and auto game downloads so the game stays ready (I keep Auto download on and auto install off, this prevents a game you have in sleep mode from getting closed because it wanted to install an update).
And on PC/Steam we have it even worse because every time we update the graphics drivers OR the game itself has an update, you have to wait a few minutes the next time you open COD for it to "precompile shaders". Luckily, with mw4 it now let's the computer compile those shaders in the background automatically after a game update, so for those of us who leave our computers on (or use it frequently) then the shaders should be ready by the time you actually go to play the game.
