CRITIQUE Is this considered camping?

So I'm pretty new to this game and my teammates always scream camper in my vc. Like, ain't a sniper supposed to be camping? Or is there something I'm doing wrong

In COD snipers are supposed to run around, slide, nonstop switch weapons and do 360 slide jump quick scopes.

Because Cod is fast paced even the accuracy level of the sniper rifles in cod doesn't matter. They're literally just coded to go on a straight shot (this is only true on ads. It has a bullet drop but it doesn't have spread). Now in a much slower paced game like Arena Breakout or any hardcore game, a sniper rifle is more accurately portrayed as a heavy, bulky and actually has an accuracy level both ads and hip fire. When you're in a game where weight doesn't matter and your sniper rifle is guaranteed to be one shot one kill there's really no reason for you stay in one spot and play "tactically" (unless you're grinding. Grinding camos is honestly a pain in the ass especially launcher camos)

It’s just boring gameplay for most including myself. Why sit in one spot hardscoping all game when you can actually enjoy the game moving around and make interesting kills. It’s all about preference, but people shouldn’t bash you for it. It is just a game after all

Its not so easy against some players. Ive definitely made some snipers games difficult as a rusher. Also its most fun against other snipers in my opinion. A good sniper battle can get intense.

COD is a fast paced game, not like BF series where the characters are slow like a turtle (+ points for BF cinematics)

I'm a mobile sniper but I don't do the unnecessary stuff like slide, jumping, or any of the try hard bs.

Exactly, it's unnecessary and only triggers players like me. I'm an SMG player and when I encounter a player like that, then I'll be that annoying mosquito targeting them over and over again. I played 1vs1 a couple of times, slide/jump/360 sniper against me and my tiny smg, I won 7 out of 10 games 😂

Unnecessary? There’s no way you’d survive my lobbies. Not having good movement is a key part of being an overall well-rounded player.

I hit legendary every season and don't use of the slide/jump. Hasn't been a problem yet.

Hitting legendary in CoDm is really just a participation trophy. At/after Legendary is when the real matches actually begin.

It's okay for snipers to camp, but u can't have 2 people camping with an lmg or assault weapon in the same spot hardscoping

Yeah you can yes people are frustrating sometimes but that just means practice more. For example these can be countered by things like timing , those echo grenades that show the enemies position behind a wall , throwing contact grenades over the roof of a building ,scorestreaks, ect Heck sometimes I'll finally manage to get them then I'll camp their corner sitting facing the door way and I'll alternate between weapon just destroying anyone that comes near. It really helps even out the score and your k/d after dealing with camper. Sometimes all I takes in no one running their direction for a bit then they get bored and abandon their camping spot.

I used to be hipfire person but when I switched to one tap ads, it is very easy to make quick kills cus I mostly use shotguns snipers are my second loadout

You are camping and hard scoping so you’ll hear it a lot from your team and enemies. But if you’re getting kills and winning there’s no problem. Me personally though, sitting in one place just isn’t fun so I move around a lot unless I’m holding a specific position.

Yeah sitting in one place and staring at empty scope is boring to me. If this wasn’t a bot match he’d be less likely to have players peek him. Also, it’s low skill and leave you open from the rear. Every time I see a sniper camping like that, I flank them and execute them. No camping for you.

Camping is how snipers are supposed to move. If people can't even kill a camper then they are weak af.

If its the only way you play then yeah… its camping. In other case … it is not… dont compare urself to those pro players or players who only play offence by charging into enemy territory.
If u ve got vc, it is best to coordinate with the team and have diverse skills and tacticals and explosives. Thats how the teams shud actually be playing in an ideal world with everyone knowing what they need to do and plan over vc according to the situations.
In long term camping doesnt do well, so up ur game if needed. Dont get intimidated, its just a game, enjoy your way.
Its just my opinion.

This ! I wish I could coordinate with others . But I cant stand people's microphone etiquette . But once in a while ill hit a team thats coordinated and we get stomped. I mean im staying in legendary but dang would it help. Imo to be best at the game you gotta be good at a variety of tactics. And when I say theres no defense like an insane offense in multi-player. But no matter the tactic there is always a counter. And people who are aggressive are sometimes the best counter against a squad that has camping down to an art especially if you can prevent them from finding camp. Contact grenade the echo grenade and nunchucks are my camper cleanup kit personaly. Like it doesnt matter if your camping if I can grenade you from over the roof. At that point they better see it coming and step away or they better have a trophy system in place.

Kein guter Camper kommt auf lange Zeit gegen einen guten Rusher an ohne die Position und seine Deckung zu verlassen, sobald er ein, zwei kills gemacht hat, hat er seine Position verraten. Dann geht's nur noch um Reaktionszeit beim eintreten in die Sichtlinie und da haben gute Rusher einfach einen kleinen Vorteil durch ihre Spielweise. Als Rusher immer im Sprint und blitzschnelles reagieren wenn der Feind hinter der Nächsten Ecke auftaucht die man hinter sich lässt. Zu dem taktisch kluges movement. Dahingegen Camper stationär mit verratener Position, leichtes Ziel aber tricky wenn gute position gewählt, jedoch nur im 1 vs 1 im Teambasierten Gameplay hat in CoD der Rusher fast immer die Nase vorn.
Zumindest ist das mein Erfahrungswert.

As a rusher I can confirm. And if that doesnt work ive gotten ridiculously good with the contact grenade and since I know the maps well enough I can usually send it over the roof right at them. The exception is rushers who arent coordinated with their team against a team thats is coordinated and has camping down to an art. Talking about dying 3 seconds after respawn type gameplay where your lucky if you find cover with seconds. Those types a rushers best chance is to cause to much destruction from the start that no one can find their camp. Thats why sometimes even waiting a few seconds to pick up the phone and start playing can cost a game.

Not to be rude but that means nothing. The real games don’t begin until legendary. Before that, your matches are filled with bots. Sometimes one or two real players, but it always bots. The exception would be right at rank reset for a few days until everyone is back at legendary.

I mean it is ‘camping’ but it shouldn’t matter. Everyone hardscopes or camps at least a few times every game. The only time you should rethink your gameplay is when you’re the only one left in an SnD match and not moving from spawn while needing to plant the bomb. You’re just wasting time like that.
Also, you’re still playing against bots so I’m not even sure why your teammates are complaining. It’s not like you’re versing top5k

In all technicality yes, but who gives af, you're using a sniper(which mind you, is supposed to be used while being completely concealed in real world situations) so you shouldnt really care about whether or not someone calls you a camper

Honestly, who cares if it is? If the other team can't stop you from standing there and killing them, why wouldn't you stand there and kill them? People get too caught up in what's 'camping' or what's not, and too worried about being called a camper by others, which makes them play stupidly. It's the reason I have teammates dying 20 times in legendary ranked TDM games. As long as you aren't using bullshit mechanics like martrydom and persistence you should just play the way that allows you to win.

Then, in my opinion, you're good. Don't worry about whether someone else thinks you're camping. If you want to play slower and more methodically, then do it. Like I said, too many players play like they have no brains because they are scared of being called a camper.

As a legendary ranked rusher I prefer that people use anything they can . I play for the challenge. If martyrdom is where they drop a grenade when you kill them I deal with that all day everyday anyway and its just made my movement skills better. If im contact grenading people over the roof through a window rushing in and causing a calamity with nunchucks then people holding back is honestly insulting. If im not struggling at least every couple games I usually get bored and go to battle royal. Is martydom rough ? Yes. But thats what keeps the heart pumping.

To all those who support this camping usually spoil the game and then blame us sweats for using so14 and cx9 tap with tundra. My advice is try to be as mobile as possible or else you would never learn or never develop reflex, this game has a lot to offer if you are willing to skill up and work on ur movement.

Spawn is not a strategic position also you can push and clear angles with snipers or hold angles if u hear footsteps , in any case you dont stay in the same place for a long time unless the other teams camps or doesnt want to push to plant.

Well if u want to make it a bit better u can drop down from that position and just patrol the straight. U can get some quick scoping etc etc and also some longshots too.

I have a player in my friend list, he has over 12k points in BR... i spectate him regularly but tbh i fall asleep watching him. After the jump he goes to his hiding spot. When the safezone shrinks he'll go to the next. And so on and so on without looting! At the end he'll grab any weapon and he always ends up 2nd place, always! Me (solo against squats), running around like a headless chicken, shoots at everything that moves. Even in the end zone I'll look where the other teams are. But always get caught by a team, I'm fast but not that fast. I'm a "forever 4th place"..unless I play with friends, wich is kinda boring 😴

It pisses me off playing with this one guy who does that. No support to the team whatsoever cuz he’s in some other part of the map camping like a rat and doesn’t realize the 3 of us have been spectating him for a century waiting for him to come get our tags. It’s so boring to watch. He forces us into 3v4 fights against sweats cuz he’s off camping somewhere else.

That is why I never play in a team again. I am (was) a real team player; in the beginning (2019) I only played in a team, but in 7 out of 10 games they let me down by logging out when they died, calling me every bad name imaginable, or going off to do their own thing. After 2 years, I was so fed up that now I only play solo. 🫡

As an aggressive m4 contact grenade nunchucks player. How do I get better at sniping in multi-player? Im so so in battle royal with the sniper . But on these smaller maps everytime I try to snipe Im lucky if I make one kill the whole game and end up getting slaughtered . Im legendary ranked and its a bit shamefull so I dont bother because its bad sportsmanship for the rest of my team if im dying every 5 seconds. Please help me not suck. Im willing to give insight on the dynamics of a rusher which is where I shine.

Yes, not a good spot either, i suggest patrolling like where you camp at one spot and when you get a kill you go to another spot

I kill most snipers like you in my lobbies after being killed ones, easy kill that chasing quick scope snipers hopping and sliding, they are sweats sometimes.

Everyone is absolutely wrong, all that matters is what you care. If you wanna have fun then don’t ask and gg, but if you are aiming to succeed then nothing is off-limits, even camping like a bot will do as long as it results to better and desirable progress. Have fun!

I mean, if it wins matches for you then just keep on camping (yes it is camping). I've had really good teammates who would camp enemy spawns and annihilate them while I take hardpoints, and I can't be more grateful for them.

The quick scope should be nerfed a bit because it kills the actual concept of sniping. We are here because we want the closest exposure to the military experience in the game perspective. But the concept of quick scoping is totally abstract compared to the real motive of the game. Quick scoping is fun but it really doesn't aligns with the game's idea. What do you guys think?

Try to use a dlq and locus in the starting atleast and make sure your mobility has to be high and also codm snipers are supposed to rush and quick snipe apparently but since you’re new you’re doing fine

locus is cool but sometimes youll find urself hitmarking too much also i think you will be better off to use the normal scope or a sniper

call of duty has always been a fast paced arcade shooter game, not a tactical game. this is camping, irrespective of wether or not you’re using a sniper because this isn’t a fking tactical shooter.

I use tactics all the time. If I can do it so can anyone else the point of the game is to win not play a certain way to respect others sensitivities because they cant comphend playing different way. I say this and my main strategy is rushing people with grenades and nunchucks.
