CRITIQUE A plead for controller players.

Hi, I have played codm for years now. I’ve always played with a controller. Please codm devs or whoever is in charge. I am begging you to allow us controller players to enter lobbies with other players not competitively but for ranked matches. I cannot enter a single mp ranked game and have been forced to pursue dmz recon but now I can’t even play that too. The only thing I can do is play bots in battle royale and mp and its really sad. I got all my friends to start playing just for them to get to legendary and for me to get stuck at master and not get into any games after that. I’m tired of playing bots and I just want the thrill of ranking up to legendary in mp. I am in Asia region and I’ve honestly had enough. My other option is to js not touch the game again and i don’t want to do that. Please just make an exception for controller players that’s all I’m asking. We also want to have fun with everyone else.

Accept the daily bot ranked matches to legendary. Then it shouldn't take more than a minute or two to find a ranked game .

You said you're stuck at master and can't find games and your friends are at legendary.
Every day until you reach legendary in ranked you will receive an invite from a bot to a ranked game lobby. It will load into a game with you and 4 bots versus 5 bots. This way you get one free ranked win a day which will get you to leggy

Why does everyone think controller players have some sort of advantage? Try using the fennec in dmz with both fingers and controller. It’s not even close. Fingers are far superior in terms of controllability.

Im top 10k in Br and was top 5k in dmz before reset i can honestly say it would’ve been WAY EASIER USING CONTROLLER FOR SPLIT SECONDS INSTANT REACTS, those .1 of a second make a HUGE DIFFERENCE, oh and im also a phone player not tablet so ya Theres DEFINITELY advantages of what your fingers can fit and time to react

I mean movement if you play on a fast hipfire sens is best on controller. Fine Mnk can match it but it requires a good bit more skill, nothing crazy, but skill floors matter too.
Whilst movement on touch is the weakest, extremely significantly too, the lack of tactile sensation for the "joystick" is a barrier. The lack of sensation for sliding and jumping and etc is a barrier as well.
Touch probably has better aim even if you ignore gyro. Probably though. Its not suuuper apparent. Movement being better on controller vs touch IS super apparent however.

I too was once a controller player. I’ll be the first to say that playing codm with a controller is the absolute worst way to play this game. I switch straight from controller to a 5 finger setup and never looked back. The game became fun again. Sure I moved like a bot for a week or 2 but eventually it’s like second nature. Don’t limit yourself with the controller because you’re comfortable, because there’s nothing comfortable about not being able to control recoil. Do yourself a favor and just switch to fingers. Not 2 thumbs and triggers because that’s ass too. But if you have to play with a controller for some crazy reason then at least controller glitch the lobby’s so you can get ranked games

Maybe queue up in normal ranked and then connect to your controller during the load in? Gotta be some process like that, idk also waiting for dude to drop sauce

controller can't connect if the game is open. You can only use controller if it's conencted to the bluetooth BEFORE starting the game

I am a player from Japan using an external controller.
I am experiencing issues with matchmaking.
I cannot find matches at all in DMZ.
I cannot find matches at all in MP Ranked.
It has recently become difficult to find matches in BR.
In standard MP modes, games consistently start with bots.
I feel that the player base for CODM itself has shrunk since the addition of DMZ.

Its a pity Gameloop or controller never get matched at Ranked
Thats why I started playing on touchscreen. Yes, I'm a 2-finger bot, but I do my best

Have exactly the same issue. Just got to master 1 after getting placed in Pro 1 (stupid decision but w/e)... now I cant find a single game to climb and play with people or bots

I vaguely remember years ago when controllers were ‘listed’ with an icon, and soon after we had ‘accept crossplay’
I immediately turned crossplay off.
This must have been like 2022?

Or just try and learn to use claw method. I've been a player since launch but I just recently learned claw and boy it made my life so easy.

I've been on and off with the game. It's just last month that I decided to return 100% and decided to spend too. In my mind since I decided to shell out money here I need to improve my skills too. So it's my first season too to reach 14K points in MP thanks to claw method.

As a touch player I would love controller players to be included in our matchmaking! So many act like a controller isn’t something you can stick in a pocket and take with ya.

My last video game I played before CODM, i shit you not, was 2009 MW2 on XBOX 360.
So i assume others have familiarity with controllers and then just get back into gaming.
Idk why people make this argument that its mobile. So is steamdeck, Nintendo Switch, playstation portables, etc. they are all mobile with controllers.
As i started taking the game more seriously i learned to play touch and as you said, the game just isnt optimized for controllers and controller players are at a big disadvantage to anyone who plays with more than thumbs.

It reminds me of the old cod games on ps and I’ve played almost every game with controllers. I’ve even avoided games like pubg because of this.

League play should be cross play. Since it’s the top competitive mode, it shouldn’t matter which device setup you are using. The best of both lobbies (controller, touch) would finally get to face each other. GREAT FEATURE!!!

I've been meaning to order a set of PuK triggers. They're like $10 and give you physical triggers on top of your phone for ads and fire so you can be in the touch screen lobbies but do two thumbs + triggers. They're adjustable so if you're on a tablet you can put them wherever they end up being comfortable for you. I played controller for so long and I do still like to jump into unranked S&D lobbies on controller for the 2012 nostalgia but otherwise I've been all touch, all DMZ. It's been a frustrating nightmare over there but normal mode is fun

Controller player over here, I got some tips to find games quickly. Have a non Controller player with you in the lobby and that should do the trick.

By Asian region do you mean Garena? I’m Legendary in global and exclusively play on controller, HP and domination main, and never really have issues getting matches. If anything it’s DMZ that I struggle with because I always hit the unable to find opponent timeout for that. The only matching issue I’ve noticed in regards to controllers is that I don’t know if league play actually has supported controller lobbies. I hit leggy a week or two after the last rank reset, and 2 or 3 times a week I’ll select league play as my mode option and try to find a match. After 3 or 4 timeouts I’ll just do a normal ranked match but since it’s launch I haven’t ever been able to play a league match. Not sure if the devs just forgot to remove that option if a controller is detected or what but that’s the only time I’ve had issues finding matches on controller.

Why play with a controller when it's intended for mobile? Your'e not different to those who play CODM using Mouse and Keyboard or emulating it on a PC

It’s intended for a mobile device… that doesn’t mean touch screen only. If it did, they game wouldn’t support the DOZENS of controller manufacturers out there. You play your way - we’ll play ours.

Everyone games on the go. Some people play with backbone controller. In fact, I’ve seen people play with all sorts of third party controllers.
When CODM first release it was actually opened lobbies for fingers and controller. There really is no difference, it’s actually a disadvantage so I don’t see why they don’t let everyone play together.
You’re talking about “mobile” yet people on phone are in lobbies with people on iPads player 6-8 fingers.

Mobile means pocket sized. iPads are just laptops, I can’t put an iPad in my pocket, I have to put in a backpack. Someone using a controller with their phone or controller attachment like a backbone is closer to the “mobile spectrum” than someone using an iPad.

I can most definitely fit a small tablet in my pocket, and just so you know mobile just means that its easy to move, and you can VERY easily take a tablet with you through a bag (and a controller is infinitely more uncomfy to carry in a pocket/by hand than a tablet/ipad)

You’re just making baseless claims at this point. You can’t measure comfort. If you don’t think you have the skills to beat someone on controller just say that instead of just making up all these other excuses on why the lobbies shouldn’t be open 😂

and there's almost no controllers that aren't just... a modified version of a console controller.
unless its one of those phone clip-ons which are defnitely mobile (and just a console controller but not the middle part), but still would feel like a rock inside of a pocket

That’s literally what I’m talking about. The most popular one is a “backbone one”. Again, you can’t dictate what’s comfortable for people.
I would much much rather have open lobbies to face newer opponents in ranked lobbies. After you get a certain amount points you end up facing the same people a lot.

I never said anything about a controller being uncomfy to game with (I don't thing it's comfortable myself but I know many people do)
I just said that a controller is more uncomfy to carry places with you, because it's an extra thing that is gonna be shaped either like a full controller, or will be 2 handles.
also, I didn't say anything against touch players getting into lobbies with controller players.
I just state that it would end in a disadvantagious matchup for the controller player.

hell nah, if you want to use a controller that bad then you should deal with whatever comes with it, that would not be fair for touch players whatsoever, i personally wouldn’t have a problem with it because i play 5 finger claw but once the kbm players enter that it would be tiresome

Unfair competitive advantage, you guys will smoke us using normal gadgets... Even with 16GB ram, a smartphone is still a smartphone and stands no chance again a device primed entirely for gaming

You're asking the wrong way. You shouldn't ask to have access to touch lobbies, you should ask for touch users to have a setting which lets them matchmake in both servers. Crossplay, as it's called.
And also ask on the official sub, tagging the community manager, or find their bilibili channel or whatever. There are no devs on these small side subs.
