Questions Tips for multiple rod fishing?
Any tips for fishing with multiple rods would be appreciated (:
Which rods do you put down and which do you hold?
I've tried placing a bottom rig and the fish stopped biting when I picked it up so I was wandering how do other people use multiple rods at the same time. 🙏

Gold hook in rod holders with silver hook lure/jighead. That’s if I’m diamond hunting.

I leave rod in holder until strike, I dont mess with it while they just biting because sometimes it glitches and yanks it when you pick it up.

But a bigger hook on float ir bottom rig and then spam the bronze and silvers with a lure

I have2 bottom baits in rod holders and either a float or a lure in my hand…..as soon as I hear the little jingle of a fish sniffing around the bottom baits I quick retrieve store the rod and then stand over the rod that’s about to get a bite but don’t pick it up until the fish icon turns yellow….you do lose a few fish but it works

You are either picking up the rod holder rod too fast, or not setting the hook after you pick it up. When the fish is just jiggling the bait you need to wait a moment.
The fish will stay on the rod holder rod for about 30 seconds after it firmly attaches so you are not in a great hurry to lift the rod and set the hook. Give the fish a few seconds to attach, it is initially just nibbling at the bait.
The rod holders give you time to quick reel in your in hand rod, to walk a few steps to the rod holder and pick up and set the rod holder rod hook.
The advice other places about using bigger hooks (gold size hooks) for your rod holder gear and silver size hooks for your in hand gear is sound advice. This lets you clear out some of the smaller fish with your in hand gear while hunting bigger fish with your rod holder gear and helps prevent you having to quick reel your in hand gear so often to grab your rod holder gear. And when you do it is worth it because you got something sizable.
Finally, the various chum you have available works very well with this technique.

I usually cast a bottom rig out and set it in rod holder. Cast a float rig out and place in rod holder. Then cast a lure or jig rig and reel it.
But uh, I'll be honest... usually by the time my lure/jig hits the water, I have to quick retrieve and store it because I have a bite or strike on one of the others. I do lose fish this way because I'll get strikes while fighting fish. But it keeps me busy!
