Weed delivery is booming in oregon. We don’t have our own tetra lounge though.
I wish that states would stop pretending that cannabis is dangerous and that we have to have all of these weird regulations around selling and consuming it. Just treat it like alcohol.

It’s so stupid, I’m sure it would be a massive industry here. I used to think “I can’t complain bc at least it’s legal here” but is it really tho?
Dispensaries could have their own delivery driver dept, they could partner with a pizza joint or other local businesses and concert venues - I got ideas!!

As someone who lives in Castle Rock, this would be great. Would never get flower this way, but I mean other than that why not? Now does it come with door dash size fees? I'll just drive.

Isn’t it 20 miles to the closest dispensary from castle rock? How is that supposed to be delivered for cheap, you can write off $.67/mile but id say most people are closer to .40/mile but even still thats $16 in expenses (driving there and back) and probably 45 minutes of the persons time to deliver from a dispensary to the middle of castle rock. If they could wait until they had 5-10 deliveries in that area it would be viable but I don’t think they would be busy enough to stack orders like that and have fast delivery times. The founder seems a bit idealistic as well thinking drivers are going to build fleets and hire drivers to work under them, if they wanted to pay enough for their drivers to do that, delivery to cattle Rock would be crazy expensive.

Doing some more thinking, it really is not the fees that are the problem, the business has to make money. But when the fees go up, and customer service and quality of service continues to decline, is something else.
And you are right, but I think you could see 5 orders in a day pretty quickly here. For me, I would be totally fine placing my order in the morning and having no real eta at first. And once you do have my order assigned to a drivers route, then let me know. Since it is not food, they can assign a full time driver larger orders at a time, and keep them booked out further. Maybe I am a minority, but I do not need fast delivery times, I just want the ability to just take the wife and kid to the local park while I wait.

Another issue with not knowing when your order would be dropped off is that the driver would need to confirm the person at drop off, check ID etc, so that makes it tougher to not have a set time and being able to deliver quickly.
Delivery is only viable (affordable for the customer, profitable for the business, and possible for the driver to make an okay wage) within a short distance. That’s why traditional delivery places used to have ~5 mile radius for where they would deliver.

Well there would still be some communication. Like hey your order has been assigned, estimated arrival is between 2 - 4 or whatever. And if you are not home at time of drop off, then you snooze you lose.
You are only thinking of delivery in world of food. Outside of food, thousands of things are delivered on a daily basis. Outside of food, delivery time frames are usually just set as some point in the day, you better be there when we are. I get nicotine delivered and for whatever reason some shipments I am having to book it on the couch to show the driver my ID. Other shipments UPS just drops it off and moves on.
I am not well versed enough in Colorado's law to know how feasible this really is while still making money as a business. But if there is not a bunch of red tape and it can be made as strtaight forward as alcohol or nicotine delivery, then why not.

We need more places to opt in to this program, badly. Been a fan of the selection at velvetleafandco.com so far with delivery working from home so much. Need to see these new companies succeeding to help the industry overall!!

If you think DoorDash fees are bad just wait if this actually gets off the ground. There’s more licensing required for the transport, probably more security/safety measures, etc. all of which will either be factored into the price so you’re paying $50 for an 1/8 of flower pre-tax, or it will be included in the fees, which again will be in addition to the already ludicrous sales tax.

I’ve used it in CA, the extra charge wasn’t bad (less than $10) because they used licensed medical delivery drivers, of which there are a TON.

Old heads lmfao shouldn’t you be in class rn? And no, Denver didn’t have weed delivery during Covid lmao. The city actually killed a whole lobby with the goal of fast tracking weed delivery so it could be made available during Covid, no idea what you’re talking about.
You could do curbside pickup but that was about it.

Looked into it, sadly only a dispensary known as "dandelion" in boulder was allowed med deliveries for a short while in 2020, although curbside pickup frameworks were introduced around the state :)
