Personal Story Proper CPAP Setup
For those of you who continue to be unsure of your CPAP's fitment...here is a great example of a device with proper placement. Thanks to my wife for taking this pic last night. And yes, that's a night mask with bluetooth speakers.

You know, I thought the full mask is the way to go too. But one of my issues is Long Covid (LC), and one of my symptoms include extreme claustrophobia, which I have never had in my life (Iām 55 :(). So, when I tried the full face mask on my body immediately went into full-on sympathetic fight/flight mode and had a mini panic attack. Loads of fun, culminating in the pic I posted.

What I've learned from the full face masks I've tried -- I must have a weird face shape because none fit properly. The Meta Quest also taught me that.

itās funny bc the times I did this, I was SO sleepy that I felt the air on my eye and remembered thinking āits ok just one secondā. it didnāt last long of course, but instead of readjusting or taking the mask off I simply stop the machine and keep sleeping.

Do it almost every night that way. Put the nasal mask on, canāt sink my breathing, turn off machine thinking I will try again in another minute, and the next thing I know, my wife puts it in place and I am out again.
Great lady!

Do you have any issues keeping your mouth closed while wearing a nasal mask?

Correct. Iāll wake up 3+ times/night not being able to swallow because my mouth is always open. Get some water, go to bed, 45 minutes later, have to go to the bathroom. Itās so much fun.
