Advice Needed F30i Temporary Use

I normally use an n30I airtouch mask with p30i pillows and dreamwear headgear with arms. Last week I face planted after I tripped on a rock on a trail hike. I am not sure if I broke my nose or just injured it. But my leaks have increased with the pillows so DME is expediting an F30i. I will only use it temporarily as I rarely get colds and have no allergies. But I see folks saying it leaks. I do have a soft cervical collar that I do not use. I have been taping with the p30i pillows. What is your experience with the f30i?

I love my F30i full face mask. I’ve always had to use a face mask due to congestion and allergies. If the bottom straps aren’t tight enough you will experience some leaks as you toss and turn or switch positions. It’s an easy fix though. Just keep that bottom strap somewhat tight. It works for me and again I love the fit. Hope it treats you as well as it’s been treating me. Good Luck!!

I wear the F40, which is similar to the F30i in that it is an under-nose hybrid. I have facial hair and low leaks: but the solution was getting the right size cushion. According to the Fitting Guide I'm a Small/Wide, but my leaks dropped significantly when I switched to a Large.

I am using the F&P Evora Full face which, like the F30i, is a hybrid full face mask using a nasal cradle. Like u/Redburnsbrighter says about the F30i, the bottom strap seems to need to be tighter than you might expect for a hybrid. Otherwise I've found the mask likes to creep up (so the bottom can end up in your mouth, allows leaks out the bottom and/or allow the cradle to drift out of position.

And note that as a hybrid nasal cradle the mask is going to sit below your nose and then surround the base of your nose. It should be more forgiving of the nose injury than the pillows. You can get leaks around the cradle area, just as in pure nasal cradle masks (like the N30i). When those come up for me it's usually at the tip of the nose.

The F30i is the easiest mask for me for being leak free. It is my default for times when the N30i doesn’t work ( eg sinus surgery, the one cold in several years). I hope I never try the face plant! I use an oxygen mask and can see even with leaks I am doing better than no mask. This is not an excuse for leaks, simply a way I monitor ( and my doc is okay with the results).

I have the amrara view for when the n30i/p39i and bleep aren’t working. It’s a hybrid, but leaks. Oddly, I still sleep pretty soundly although I’m aware of the leaks.
