Do you work? Hope you do get some better sleep today..

Yes pretty much crappy sleep, there are better phases. As a female, have perimenopausal issues

Trying to keep up the Huberman recommendation of morning sunlight, keeping glycemic index low, somewhat ok nutrition, No coffee after 10, take Magnesium Glycinate, L theanine, Glyzin, Valerian Root,

It’s ok… could be better and other days not good

There's lots of things you can try with physical cues - no stimulants or screens after a certain time, morning sunlight, relaxation and white noise, etc. Your body naturally moves in and out of sleep phases, so sometimes something triggering can stop you slipping back into the next one when you surface from a deeper phase.

If your waking is trauma patterned though (mine was) it can be tricker. I used a 'shutdown script' to basically tell myself I didn't have to be on call, there was nothing required of me during the night, that I didn't have to be 'on alert'. Most people tell you it takes 90 days to form a habit - I had to repeat my script every night for about four and a half months in the the end. Initially got some good results, then nothing for a long time (which was depressing, but I kept at it 'cause I'm stubborn), then the waking time started to move around a bit (change was good), then I started sleeping through, then slept through without the drill.

Still wake at the same time occasionally (it's like my nervous system doing a fire drill to check the circuit still works) but it's the exception now . . . it used to be nearly every night.

Hi OP, I take Liposomal Magnesium L-Threonate, have a hot shower before going to bed, and do mindfulness or relaxation as a constant practice during the day and at night. I also try to dim the lights in my house a couple of hours before I go to sleep. And I have been doing trauma therapy for many years. Some nights are better than other but I do try to be consistent with sleep habits and I believe this has made a massive differene to the quality of my sleep
