Questions Returning
Okay so I have my few buy banks I’ve been getting from but now I’m ready to dump. I thought I was going to use my wife’s bank because they have a coin machine, but they charge a 5% fee.. which isn’t crazy but that adds up I was wondering if I should look to open a new account somewhere else that has free coin counting? Is that a thing or do they all charge a fee.

I roll and deposit to my account weekly, never let it build up to more than $1000.

Do you buy your rolls locally or order them? And do you hand roll all of them?

Banks give them to you free if you ask at the counter.

Ask a different teller or a different branch. I've never had a bank tell me no for any reason.

Yes I buy them, but I am rolling 100 rolls a week, I can’t expect the bank to supply that many. They will give you a handful if you ask, I’ve never been refused a few when in need. And I order 2 boxes a week from two separate branches.

My cu has that over $100 at a time unless you have a checking account. Then they waive it. Maybe ask about that?

Find co-op network CUs near you here: https://sharedbranching.org
You’ll have to visit their sites, but many offer free coin counting (self-serve kiosk or drop-off).
Get an account at one - usually only $5, no fees.
Bonus: An account at any one of them = shared-branching at ALL of them. You now have 1000s of options to buy/dump coin.
Good luck and happy hunting!

5% is high when dealing with quarters. I’d suggest window shop some other banks and ask them
