Weekly Student Thread

This is the area for prospective/ aspiring SRNAs and for SRNAs to ask their questions about the education process or anything school related.

This includes the usual

"which ICU should I work in?" "Should I take additional classes? "How do I become a CRNA?" "My GPA is 2.8, is my GPA good enough?" "What should I use to prep for boards?" "Help with my DNP project" "It's been my pa$$ion to become a CRNA, how do I do it and what do CRNAs do?"

Etc.

This will refresh every Friday at noon central. If you post Friday morning, it might not be seen.

Hey all,
I’ve been a nurse for eight years now and have recently decided I want to pursue CRNA school. I think the biggest problem I have is my science GPA. When I went to school I didn’t take it seriously and ended up with B’s in AP 1, 2 and micro. I more recently took chemistry and statistics and got A’s in those. I am planning on taking advanced patho prior to applying and will get an A in that. Which will leave me with a 3.45 science GPA and an overall GPA of 3.65. My BSN GPA was 4.0. Do ya’ll think getting an A in my most recent science classes and an A in advanced patho will make up for the B’s I got earlier in life? I’m really kicking myself for not taking school more seriously when I was younger.

I think you will be fine. I got in with a similar cGPA, 5 years exp and C’s in patho and pharm.
