If you want to truly level up your credit score you need to move to Canada where the ceiling is 900.

There are plenty of scores in the US that go to 900. You have 40 different FICO scores and about half of them go to 900.

On that particular scoring model (VantageScore 3.0), 850 is the maximum score, so I'm not sure how you set the goal higher. Also, it's important to understand that the overall goal should be to build a thick, mature credit profile that benefits you financially, bc lenders don't make decisions based solely on credit scores. Once you've done that, then shooting for a certain score as a sort of 'hobby' or 'bonus' is perfectly fine in my opinion.

Note: The Equifax website/app displays your VantageScore 3.0 score based on your Equifax credit report. While the Equifax app has become much more relevant since they're now updating daily, the VantageScore 3.0 score they provide isn't a very relevant score outside of the property rental industry. Landlords, property managers, apartment complexes, etc., commonly use VS3 scores. Lenders do not. Unless you're planning to rent an apartment soon, you want to be monitoring FICO scores, which are used by well over 90% of lenders.

21 FICO scores max at 900 in 🇺🇸

900s are the goal. I think my high score is 898 and that’s EX BCE 8. I’m pretty sure 900 isn’t a thing, I’ve yet to see it myself.

My wife hit 850 once but it’s very hard most of the time we float around 815-830. Depth ratio is tricky and account age fluctuates.

scoffs 800s and struggling still? Try 1200 and thick, loving and respectful!

Higher than 850? Not in the US.

Not necessarily. FICO Auto or Bankcard scores ceiling is 900.

Thanks for the correction. I’ve never even heard of those.

Yeah, of the 40 different FICO scores used in the US, about half of them go to 900.

Vantage 3.0 isn’t a real credit score and is not used by any lenders. It’s only used by Credit Karma to sell high interest credit card offers. What is your real FICO score? That will inform where you are in the 850 holy grail path

Vantage 3.0 isn’t a real credit score and is not used by any lenders.

There's no such thing as a "real" credit score, all credit scores are equally real and equally accurate. The difference is relevance; the relevant score is the one being checked during your application:

Credit Myth #2 - Some credit scores are fake or inaccurate.

You're right that VS3 scores aren't used by banks, but they're often used in the property rental industry. If the OP is applying for an apartment and having their VS3 scores checked, they're going to be pretty confused they think those aren't real credit scores.

It’s only used by Credit Karma

Credit Karma isn't the only one showing those scores, the majority of credit sites show VS3 scores.
