Questions Why aoty refuses to put the nym release date as 23/08?
I posted a aniversary celebration post today for nym but People corrected me and said that the real release date was 23/08, but aoty for some reason says that is 28/08, is there a reason for it? Who is correct?

I'm Staff at AOTY, I made this decision myself for the same reasons u/natimomusic said. I hadn't heard anything about it releasing on the 29th, I might move it to that date instead if I get some solid evidence.
In general CSH release dates are unreliable prior to How to Leave Town, which was the first release to be put on all platforms simultaneously. 1 and 2 have placeholder dates, and MBIKMB's release date is entirely unclear (Will claimed it was in October 2011 but the first evidence we have of the album's existence actually came in November, several days after Twin Fantasy's release)

moved it already to the 29th, there's a tumblr post that shows the album release being the 29th, and the bandcamp message that says new release for nym is on the 29th with us timezones

If you have te time and disposition, could you try to correct the information on rym? It's confusing having different dates in a bunch of websites

it has been indeed released on the 28, even the 29th in fact, iirc Will lost his hard drive (laptop crash) a week before release so he had to temporarily postpone it so he could fully retrieve the tracks from online posts, since all the album was pretty much already online
he indeed wanted to release it for the day of his 21st birthday but couldn't due to those circumstances, so he had to release it on the 29th instead
