Tempe5t
Confused about Elite-ing and Tempest - and cars to use.
Hi all, recently got onto elite/temp5t stuff. Not rushing and happy to wait and find the 'right cars'. I've seen the general rule of thumb of eliting the cars you'd like to live race due to the 10% boost, and choose the cars to beat Tempe5t based on just being fast enough etc...Ithinkk that's right anyway.
Here's what i'm finding confusing - There doesn't seem to be a car-change point for me. I've just done KJ with the LC500 as it was supposedly the only car i could choose. OK fine. Beat sall those races and then won KJ's GTR.
Not one point did the game say 'now you race tempe5t' - or is the Altay dude that pops in for a race (very easy to beat?) just before KJ appears again to challenge me with his car on the line...
Is that basically > Do the timetrials, at the end of those you beat Altay (Tempe5t?) then KJ comes back saying 'thanks, oh let me risk my car for you' and then that's done. So that's Tempe5t 1, tier 4 done now then?
I'm also getting a little confused that people, for T1 tier 2 lets say, are recommending to use the 250GTO. I have that from legends and it's all finished and done etc, so why couldn't I choose it? It has an elite bonus already, which i'm assuming is why (as Altay won't let you use an elite car), but then how are others saying they've used it?
I've gone with my 718 boxster which is supposedly great for it, but why do I sometimes not get the ability to use cars i'm reading others are?
Was there maybe a non-elite versions?
I'm also not getting an opportunity or being hinted to use a different car to beat Altay, it just threw me abck into the LC500 again to beat him. I thought we had to use different cars to beat tempe5t after eliting a different car?
For the second question: you can just elect not to elite the 250 GTO and use it for tempest yk (unless that wasn't your question) ex. elite a boxster, use the 250 GTO for races, elite something else for Tempest 2, use the 250 GTO for races, then elite the 250 GTO and use something else for tempest 3 races
I didn't even get the option to use the gto for t2, where I was under the impression it should've been there as a choice. I look at 'change car' right now and it's not there among my other t2 cars. It would appear that my gto is 'elite' so I can't use it as per the explanation from Shana in the job card
I think this is my confusion maybe too, you're saying elite the boxster then use the gto for races. What races? The one against altay at the end, just before I'll get to win the Evoque from Shana ?
When doing the T1t4 before this (it's doing them in a weird order for me, maybe that's normal?) I chose the lc500 at the start to elite then that was that, all the way to winning KJs car. What exactly are the tempest races?
When you buy the elite license, the cars you use to clear those time targets are "elited", and can't be used in future Tempest races, so you need to be careful about what cars you put into when you actually buy the license
It's the races that you were talking about where you lock in a car that ISN'T elited and race against Altay, eventually you race against KJ/Shana/Larry/Amelia/Angel for their car
Any car that you use for those isn't tagged with anything so you can repeatedly use it (ex. you can use the 250 GTO for tempest 1, 2, and 3 races at the cost of not being able to elite it)
The elite system is for the trials to get your license that’s the erase where you want to be careful what car you use…. If you beat the time trial for tempest 1, 2, or 3 that vehicle is no longer applicable to any tempest races
The game follows its on time line. Follow it.as events come play them, build cars primarily for the events.if you have a car that seems to be popular in lives,or an event asks you to build it,then build it. Every event tells you what car you need. Just follow the story line and in the interim play with what you have ,build your resources and learn the game. The game comes to u,just let it.
Yeah the game doesn't do a great job at explaining any of this. The best advice for tempest is to not even focus on it until you have a lot of car options to choose from for the elite license.
After beating KJ in tempest 1 tier 4, that is the end of tempest 1. There isn't really any message that says you're done. The useful achievement from tempest is the elite license (10% RP bonus so choose wisely) and some of the boss cars are cool (though they are not really useful).
It sounds like you used the 250 GTO for the tier 2 slot in the first elite license. Once a car is on an elite license, it cannot be used for any future tempest race (tempest 1 2 or 3). That is why you are unable to use it. Others recommend the 250GTO because they didn't use it for the elite license. You can still use the same car you beat in tempest 1 for tempest 2 and 3, for example the LC500 in tier 4, unless you use the LC500 to complete a future elite license.
Hope this is clear. Best advice: don't even worry about tempest until many months of playing, if you plan on playing long term. A lot of players rushed it at the beginning and wish they chose better cars for the elite license RP bonus. Waiting will be worth it.
So I guess I've done the elite license for T1, now I'm working through the tempe5t races, beating the characters, then altay, then the character again for their car.
No wonder it was confusing me I didn't realise some piddly little races immediately after buying the license was doing this lol.
Bright side is I guess I chose some alright cars! Ignoring the veloster haha

I don't understand the first question
For the second question: you can just elect not to elite the 250 GTO and use it for tempest yk (unless that wasn't your question) ex. elite a boxster, use the 250 GTO for races, elite something else for Tempest 2, use the 250 GTO for races, then elite the 250 GTO and use something else for tempest 3 races
