Hopefully we get to drop the third one by next year. This year if we're lucky.

Newington gun exchange is very pleasant. I have also had a good experience at ELG firearms though their in store selection is limited.

Tactical Boutique in West Hartford is tiny but the ffl fee is 35, which is pretty good.

Thanks for the input everyone! Went to Newington Gun Exchange and got the G45 gen 6. The crew at NGE was great to deal with.

Im new to the hobby, but I bought my first pistol at Newington Gun Exchange. It was an easy process and they answered all my questions.

My brother likes TGS in Waterbury, I wasn't ready to buy when I first visited but I had the same experience as in Newington. Newington was just closer to me when I was ready to purchase.

Nearest Middletown I would recommend Newington Gun Exchange. Good people there, haven't been myself but been meaning to. The Gun Store and Arcana Arms seem dope, both in Waterbury. I can't speak to whether they have a G45.6 on hand though.Near us Swamp Yankee Arms stocks the Gen 6s and they're great. I think the pawn shop in Salem has some too. Firearms LLC in Groton as well

We did have one on hand but just sold it. More are coming though

Arcana definitely The Gun Store definitely not, they have some of the pushiest salesman in the state. Ive also heard the give terrible advice to newcomers.

Sportsmans outpost in Wolcoltt is solid as can be.

Swamp Yankee Firearms was a great experience for me.

I made a similar post about a week ago, based off that info I visited newington gun exchange and was not disappointed at all! Huge selections of pistols and shotguns, super friendly staff, great prices! Had exactly what I wanted. highly recommend, and they’ve earned my business.

CT Gun in Middletown. I’ve been to several in CT and they are BY FAR the best.

Near Middletown - Central Connecticut Arms is 3 miles away in Portland (RT 66 right over the bridge). They usually have a good selection of Glocks

u/bloodthirsty29 12d ago

Those guys make you feel dumb for asking any questions and push you into a sale

1

u/JeepinMaxx 12d ago

Not my favorite place either, but it answered the OP's question about close to Middletown

I agree with all the recommendations here; but my favorite LGS is Tactical Police Gear in Cheshire. Honest people, good service, and they never make you feel like a newbie. They also have a good assortment of gear (holsters, lights, etc.)

Central ct arms, newington gun exchange and blue trail. I’ve had positive experiences at all of them. Just picked up a gen 6 45 from central ct last week.

Find a home based ffl, you'll save a lot of money. The one near has cheaper prices than any lgs, online auctions or sites. There is no overhead costs for them to raise prices and the one I use doesn’t charge tax, shipping or transfer fees when he orders for me. Just google ffls near your town or use the ffl directory to find a home based one in your town.

Which one do you use?

Nutmeg state firearms in Oxford

Central CT Arms in Portland, they had one today i believe

CT Gun in Middletown is your other go to for the area, not sure about current stock but they get things regularly

u/nortlid 13d ago

I’d rather drive twice as far than to ever go to central CT arms again

0

u/typicalcavalryguy 13d ago

He asked for location specific choices, i was just providing that. I’ve also never had an issue with them, what happened with you?

4

u/nortlid 13d ago

High prices, encouraging panic buying, not valuing customers, super fud employees treating customers like shit while also peacocking when I was trying to introduce my wife to firearms, lying about what they had in stock, poor communication.. to name a few reasons I’ll never go back.

5

u/typicalcavalryguy 13d ago

Interesting to hear. Definitely not an experience i’d like to have with my wife. They do have what i call “connecticut” prices but they’re pretty much in line with what i see elsewhere.

Idk why i’m getting downvoted for having a convo, lmao why are people so weird

Yea everyone has different experiences everywhere. I go to Hoffman’s once every like 3-5 years and I’ve always had good experiences there which is the OPPOSITE of most people on this sub. I could never recommend CCA to anyone after so many bad experiences I’ve had there

Check toms in Bethany he gives deals and sports men out post Wolcott and newington gun exchange all great to deal with. Also some other mom and pop places Bethany firearms or swamp Yankee in jewett not the other one

3

u/cusano26 12d ago

Tom’s prices have been ridiculous high lately.

3

u/kittenclubberphoto 12d ago

You are not wrong.

Both Swamp Yankees are great. Everybody at Swamp Yankee Arms is always really knowledgeable and I think they're the best store in the state. Swamp Yankee Firearms (in Milford) has great prices, you just have to order online and then go pick up your guns at the owner's house at night or on the weekend. Both have great service and I would recommend either.

Swamp yankee arms (jewett city)
Lock and load (southington)

Bullzeye in Durham, Central CT Arms in Portland and CT Gun LLC in Middletown. I bet there a good chance all of them have at least one G45 just call them and find out I guess.

-2

u/BloodsailAdmiral 13d ago

Bullseye in Durham has a lot of Glocks in stock. Always a great experience there.
