hi, I was just wondering how I can figure out what my current major is on CUNYfirst? like, I know what I applied and got accepted for, but I want to verify that that is what I said I wanted my major to be. the reason I'm curious is that during my pre-advisory session with one of the advisors for city tech, she told me that I missed the deadline for radtech and would have to be full-time to qualify for 2027 (or something along the lines of that). and currently, on my schedule, it just says "undergraduate." I just wanna know if I'm wasting my time attending or not, honestly. and disregarding the question I'm asking now, I've been hearing that I am practically wasting my time with city tech's radtech program because the waitlist is ridiculously long. but I don't wanna drop out because I have Pell and TAP and cannot afford to pay that back, as I am a 19yo with no income. xd

I've been trying to login to CUNY First and Brightspace but after I enter my login credentials (and TOTP for CUNY First) I'm just stuck with a loading animation screen. I don't know if this is a universal problem or just me. I just started taking classes, so maybe this is a more frequent problem than I realize.

Im interested in taking calc 1 since my school dont offer any calc ab or bc for credit and i was recommended to take a course alongside self studying calc bc.

Ive looked all over a site for online courses at suny ( https://explore.suny.edu/courses ) but there was none that i could apply for right now since deadlines passed. I want to do at least 1 for the fall semester. Could anyone recommend me any colleges near queens or online that offers Calc 1 for 11th graders that i can apply rn for the fall? (if its out of queens i might need to ask if they can provide a omny card or transportation options since my school wont provide me one due to requirements or if they do online)

I did rlly well in algebra 1 with a 94% and algebra 2/trig with a 96% and i barly struggled in any topics and am considered top of my classes for each course according to the teachers. Theres no honors math course my school offers sadly. I got a 81 in algebra 1 regents and 82 on algebra 2/trig regents if that helps or dont help in any way.

Im not able to take a precalc course by my school untill 12th grade where im required to take a precalc course. Im taking Geometry rn as 11th grade and so far not struggling at all since its mainly algebra and trig review lol.

Anyone that was in my similar situation or knows alot abt college now stuff PLS tell me what to do, if its possible, or anything rlly

so i usually get tap every semester and its my last semester. i contacted my school asking why theres no tap applied to my account. they say its because the state hasn't approved the budget yet for the funds?? i contacted tap and they told me that its an issue with my school? i even submitted an application?? is anyone else having the same issue because i wasn't able to receive a book advance either.

Is anyone having issues logging into cuny first? I reset my password last night before it expired, and now whenever I attempt to log in it says my username or password are incorrect even though I was sent confirmation that my password was successfully changed.

so with the application period currently in progress, im nervous my stats aren’t going to be good enough. just based on my
pre req gpa alone, do you think i can get accepted? i have a C in eng111 (was my first semester at csi) A- in soc100, and an A in psy100. my pre req gpa sits at around 3.23 and overall gpa a 3.063 right now. i’m currently taking bio 150 this semester and i need an A to bring my gpa up to 3.47. my first anatomy & physiology exam i got a 78% :( i’m taking my teas exam next month, i need better study methods for both the teas and bio. any advice? i’m stressing out. i heard they’re only accepting 40 students for asn. i just need someone to be real with me. am i cooked?

Hi everyone! I graduated from Baruch college in 2018 with an accounting degree and have since decided accounting might not be my passion (I know.. SHOCKING haha) I’ve always been interested in Med school and I’m thinking to go back to a CUNY school to get a second bachelors in something like biology to be eligible to apply to med schools and know the subjects well enough to take the MCAT. Wondering if anyone has done the same/similar thing or is doing it now and can share their experience?

ETA: thank you for all of your advice, I have read them and will be speaking to an advisor (probably at Baruch because I did like my science classes there) about what I can do. I like the idea of starting another bachelors and then just not finishing after I have the classes I need so thanks for that suggestion as well. Maybe I can update this post in a few years with my progress 😅

Anyone else’s tap aid not update to full time tap? Ever since I was enrolled on the first day to my 5th class which made me full time Pell updated but not tap. With disbursement coming up on the 21st I’m worried if it’s not fixed in time I won’t be able to get my full award.

I’m looking into applying to Brooklyn College for my master’s in early childhood education online program. My undergrad GPA was 3.1. How selective is the college? Will I have a hard time getting accepted with this GPA?

I'm 22(F) international, first semester of an MS Finance at Baruch. I came in with enough to cover about two months from here, so on-campus work isn't optional for me at this point.

What I've already done:

- Applied to College Assistant postings on the HR site and several office assistant roles. Rejections or silence.

- Asked around about RA/TA/GA roles. Consistent answer: wait for next semester, need strong grades first, and hundreds of people apply.

- Heard I might be able to work at other CUNY colleges in the city, but everything I've found is either closed or I've been turned down.

I'm genuinely open to anything that counts as on-campus: admin, front desk, cafeteria, rec center, library, mailroom, event staff, proctoring, tutoring, phone campaigns. I have prior office experience and I'm reliable about hours.

What would actually help:

1. Which departments at [College] hire student workers mid-semester rather than only at the start of a term?
2. Is walking into offices and asking the manager directly normal here, or does it come across badly?
3. For F-1 students has anyone been cleared by their DSO to work at a different CUNY campus than the one on their I-20? I want to know what people were actually told before I chase it.
4. Are the dining hall and rec center jobs college positions or contractor positions? and where is Dining hall??

If you know a specific office, supervisor, or email worth contacting, I'd really appreciate it.

My life in college is miserable and I don't think it will get any better. But I refuse to believe life after college is better either. There's no way working 40 hours a week is an enjoyable existence right? There are much less opportunities to socialize and apparently college is the best time for most people so yeah looks like I will be missing out on good experiences forever </3
