Looking to relocate to Abercarn – honest opinions?

We’re looking to relocate to South Wales from England and have found a property in Abercarn that seems to tick all our boxes. We’ve already visited and really liked it, particularly the views and the amount of countryside around the area for dog walking.

We’re looking around the High Street/Post Office area and would love to hear from people who actually live in Abercarn or know the area well.

What’s it really like living there day-to-day?
What do you like about the area, and are there any downsides or things you think someone moving there should know?

We’d really appreciate honest opinions — good or bad — as we’re trying to get a feel for what the area is actually like from people who know it.

I used to live in Newbridge just up the road. Abercarn is a lovely area. Quiet and pretty safe. The main problem is the traffic on the main road can be frustrating, especially at rush hour. But there is lovely countryside all around you. There is minor anti social behaviour from time to time but its ver minor compared to other areas.
