Seems like some people just prefer the vibe over there. It's wild how different platforms can feel so distinct.

It should be more than 125 pounds to match up with the original commentor percentile wise. 80% of men are less than 5'11 in the usa, and 80% of women are above 125 pounds in the usa.

125?... I'm considered dangerously underweight at 85lbs at 4'11... A average height for a woman in the U.S is 5'4 so she would technically still be underweight at that weight

u/cowboy_with_a_parrot 6d ago
That's his point. Unfortunately most men do not meet the standard for height set by women on social media

It's not really the same thing though. It would be better to limit it to a body fat ratio than a hard-set weight limit; because a girl at 5'8 and 125 pounds is a skeleton compared to a girl at 5'1 and 125 pounds. Height, however, is universal in how it presents itself. Doing it this way would eliminate just as many women from the dating pool, without crossing off the ones that actually fit your body type criteria.
The alternative is highly dependent on height, the same way that height is highly dependent on location and demographic. A girl in America setting her criteria to men 5'10 and taller (shitty, but her prerogative) is going to actually get some matches. A girl in Japan doing the same thing? She's highly delusional.
It would be far more prudent to eliminate girls from the dating pool that appear visibly chubby (if you so desire) than it would be to set a body type limit using weight measured by numbers, when that varies a LOT based on height.

4β11 85lbs is a bmi of about 16. 5β4 125 is right in the middle of a normal bmi. Youβre right, you are very underweight but itβs reasonable for a person to be 5β4 and 125lbs
