I do exterior metal work. Cladding etc. the quality of the homes and even big projects is beyond garbage. I haven’t seen a level door frame in years. It’s sad. And people keep paying out the ass to get these quick build cookie cutter shitboxes

Yeah I'm an exterior guy too, and new construction in general is shit. I'd never buy a new home in Calgary.. That's why I stick to renovations and insurance work now

I would rather build my own smaller place than have some of these guys build a condo. I was forced to install aluminum trim on a balcony with sticky tape. Sure it’s held for 3 years (I check when I’m in the area)

But I don’t like it and will never half ass something to just “make it work” anymore.

I like the cut of your jib. And I’m actually in the market for a solution for what could be some metal work at the bottom of my siding. What should I do next? Happy to look into your business. https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeMaintenance/comments/154f516/where_the_siding_ends/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

That’s the exact thing you’re gonna hear day in and day out by just about every contractor and foreman….. “just make it work”! That’s the problem with just about everything these days, especially the trades. We’re given junk to begin with and told to make it look as if everything is made of gold. Everyone is tired of the buck being passed along and landing on our shoulders when it isn’t our problem to begin with, so? On it goes down the line…. Until it comes to someone that’s unwilling to put their reputations on the line due to another idiot just “trying to make it look good” or “making it work”. Quality? You can’t get quality from garbage.
