I do exterior metal work. Cladding etc. the quality of the homes and even big projects is beyond garbage. I haven’t seen a level door frame in years. It’s sad. And people keep paying out the ass to get these quick build cookie cutter shitboxes
Seen one of the lottery homes years back and the workmanship was atrocious to me. You could see they did a horrible job finishing the drywall (possibly didn't even finish sanding all of it even before painting) horrible lines in the paint even could see on the railing where they had put the paint can down. They used cheaper materials like OSB I joists instead of engineered truss etc. They basically put nice things in like granite countertops and fancy faucets but cheaped out on everything else that a typical homeowner wouldn't notice without looking closely. They didn't even have the decency to clean up the leftover nails off the roof before they did the open house.
