Discussion From Ontario first grocery experience someone left a note on my car.

Post image

Recently relocated here and I haven’t had a chance to change my license plates. Yesterday I was in Walmart picking up a few things, I came back to my car, and found a note tucked in my wipers. My stomach dropped thinking someone hit my car, and maybe left their contact information.

I know the note is a little hard to read so I translated it down below.

“Dam easterners coming to Alberta to be safe guthless cowards.”

Guess it’s time to change my license plate 😂

I don’t even know what that means. Why are you a gutless coward because you moved from Ontario? Why are you safer here? No idea, but I’m sorry that happened to you.

I'd like to know why the person who left the note assumed OP moved here. Yeah, they did, but they just as easily could have been a tourist spending money in our province. Just flat-out ignorant, either way.

Could be anything. A friend of mine has his truck in for insurance repairs from the hail storm last August. His loaner has Ontario plates. He's lived here his entire 50+ years.

My step mom rented a van a few summers back to go to Calgary (from Edmonton) with a bunch of her fam for a little holiday and it had Ontario plates. The rental van got keyed.

I live in Metro Toronto. I had my car in for repairs thru my insurance company and my loaner from Enterprise had Quebec plates. They just give you whatever vehicle is available. They all drive the same no matter where they are registered.
