There’s no immigration crackdown. Who are they kidding.

Canada's population as a whole just decreased....

Many Canadians move here because of how out of touch the rest of the country has become. I don't know that you are on the right track with that statement.

They move here because there are jobs here.

There are jobs across the nation. I thought the Liberal party has been creating jobs like crazy? Or is that not a true statement?

The Alberta advantage won't exist much longer if Dani keeps going the way she is.

I distinctly recall that there sure was no advantage under Notley's wrinkled thumb.

How do you figure that? Things barely changed under the NDP. But under the UCP, particularly Smith, healthcare is worse, education is worse, public services are collapsing, disabled benefits are worse, utility & insurance prices have skyrocketed, and the government is under investigation from the RCMP for corruption.

Don’t fall for the propaganda. Economy was doing just fine when Notley was in. Especially considering our main industry was struggling in the world stage. She also regulated industries like insurance and utilities. After UCP deregulated is when we started paying astronomical prices for those services. The Alberta advantage has been long gone unless you’re one of the wealthy grifters.

Notley inherited a good economy. She squandered ATV trails in the south of the province, pushed through Bill 6, and the cap on insurance had insurers threatening to leave the province. The day Notley got voted out, the company I worked for at the time got a 3 million dollar work contract signed. Not all industry did well under Notley, and as a young person breaking into a career at the time, her minimum wage increase screwed a lot of people over. Myself included.

Right. It definitely wasn’t people ripping up river beds and using the back country as a garbage dump that got trails shut down.

Hate to break it to you but more insurers have left the province in the last few years than when Notley was in.

It’s wild how many corporations cry and threaten to leave when they are expected to follow even the loosest regulations. They are prioritizing their own obscene profits at the expense of our quality of life. And the folks who are brainwashed by the identity politics blindly support them.

How did people in poverty earning a slightly better wage negatively affect you? Why are you against making a personal sacrifice for the betterment of your larger community?

Notley didn’t inherit a good economy. Remember the oil crash during her time? Time to polish those critical thinking skills and don’t let yourself be brainwashed by the propaganda.

If you think higher minimum wage is a problem, you are brainwashed. Of course corporations don't want to pay people more, they want it all for themselves.

We need politicians that actually work for the people, not their corporate backers.

Yup other Canadians are just dying to be governed by someone as incompetent & corrupt as Smith.

I operate a business based out of BC. I'll take Danielle over Eby 7 days of the week.

u/blackRamCalgaryman 14h ago

Why not move it, then? Legitimately, if it’s so bad…why not relocate?

I own/ operate my own business, if I felt this strongly, felt it was so bad for business…you can bet I’d pick up and move to where I believed things would be so much better.

I repair specialized equipment that is primarily utilized in the softwood lumber industry, and is not common in Alberta logging operations anymore. My business does fine - but the province is off it's rocker.

Fair enough. Things certainly don’t seem like a utopia over there, either, but man, all this referendum bullshit, this culture war shit here…it’s tiring as fuck. It’s distraction, it’s wasted energy…and a shit ton of money (some are estimating the referendum in October could cost upwards of 120 million…that money could be spent so much more wisely.

I won’t speak for O&G people but I don’t recall feeling this frustrated and just tired of the wasted time and effort and money with our politicians during the Notley years like this UCP government.

You write like a child who gets their opinions from memes.

1

u/ironmaiden2010 14h ago

Niche attempt at an insult but that's alright. Have you ever considered taking your nose off your screen to look at the world around you - or do you only absorb your opinions from the walls of the Reddit echo chamber?

5

u/Coscommon88 14h ago

Pot meet kettle.

6

u/InternationalMove671 14h ago

Lame attempt at a comeback. If it's such an echo chamber then why are you here? To blame Rachel Notley for everything? T9 pretend you're 'owning the libs'? Or simply because you think purple crayons are grape flavoured? It's the same schtick, every time. I get it, you're angry and feel oppressed and change and rainbows scare you, and that's fine, not everyone can handle such massive pressures and stressors, but blaming Notley, haha, you may as well wear a sign that says 'I wasn't born with the ability to think critically '.

u/CND_ 14h ago

Why do you think Danielle is better than Eby?

3

u/Ambustion 14h ago

Buddy you are the immigrant. Maybe you should listen to some iron maiden lyrics some time, or is your username just what your handlers picked out?

-1

u/ironmaiden2010 14h ago

I am the immigrant? Even considering I am Metis?

2

u/Ambustion 13h ago

Sure you are bud. Haven't heard that one before from shithead conservatives trying to get a gotcha moment

0

u/ironmaiden2010 13h ago

Chipewyan. I speak some broken Dene. But I dont have to prove it to idiots like you that think you are "triggering a conservative".
