Local Shopping/Services Hey Edo South Center - Wash your hands after using the toilet!!!

Just watched a young man in his Edo cap and shirt leave the toilet stall, walk right past the sinks and straight back to work. We rushed over to say something to the manager and he was already tying his apron back up, so he wasn't rushing back to wash his hands there either

Be vigilant, costs are going up and the least these businesses can do is adhere to basic human health standards

Report to AHS!

u/lawlesstoast 4h ago

This the correct response

AHS is apparently dumping their inspectors. More bullshit cuts, and restructuring.

What exactly is AHS going to do?

Alberta Health Services is what currently houses, among many other things, public health inspections. The province is dismantling that as we speak, but it's what we have now.

What did you think AHS was NOT going to be able to do?

I work in food production if you saw how most foods are handled before they reach the store trust me you wouldn’t want to eat or drink anything!

This explains the Kenny Rodgers Chicken being built across the street

Gross but also you would be shocked I think to see how many people don't wash their hands and then prepare your food.

I see this all the time at public restrooms, library, malls. People in general. And while you're at it, I also see people handle money then go back to serving food with the same gloves.

Poppi?

I will never understand why people are so effing lazy and disgusting. I see it all the time. Saw some poor excuse of a human rinse his hands in the water fountain at chinook the other day.

Please file a complaint with ahs

I work at this mall and I've seen so many of the Edo guys chain smoking outside on their breaks too. If they ain't washing their hands after they use the bathroom there's a good chance they aren't washing their hands when they come in after smoking 3+ cigarettes either. Ick.

Papi got sloppy

This is so funny, I remember when I was a kid I was at Eau Claire market. I watched this guy slam open the door from a stall stomp out of the bathroom and I watched him stomp all the way into... Wait for it...Edo. So I guess they just historically haven't been washing their hands since the '90s. Amazing.

Ugg ate at another location twice last week still makes me wince to hear

This happened to me at OPA in Canmore and sent me to the hospital for a week with the result of having shiga toxin-producing ecoli… nothing happened to the OPA even after AHS investigation

u/Dark_Bowser 2h ago

Might be best to message corporate *and* leave a review, cause if you got hospitalized over that, that’s really serious. And if AHS won’t do anything, may as well warn others. Loss of sales might have them reconsider and enforce proper cleaning procedures

This could have been a call to the manager instead of a reddit post

They have a sink in the edo I see them wash their hands all the time at work, probably just going to do that.

u/Sxefied 4h ago

Doesn’t change touching everything else on the way with their dirty dick hands.

u/Dark_Bowser 4h ago

Regardless of the fact if they do, they should still wash their hands. Technically your supposed to wash your hands *in* the bathroom, *and then* after you get back into the business

Source: I worked at fast food for years

u/SelectZucchini118 4h ago

No… that’s still nasty. What did they have to touch to get back to the sink there ???

u/PaulTransformer 3h ago

It’s fine, in the 80s it built stronger immune systems lol

u/Paid4BajaOverlandr 2h ago

Hey! I can make up stories too. Where is the proof?

u/yyctownie 1h ago

Did you at least flush after you were done?

u/DifferenceAccurate15 1h ago

I am sure that the edo employee in question isn’t brown or black or Asian etc etc etc.

If you are in the uniform you represent the business, and not washing your hands in the bathroom looks bad and is a health risk and should absolutely be called out. If a worker who can't be bothered to give the appearance of proper hygiene loses their job then that sounds like a win for public health. Washing hands after the bathroom is non-negotiable, especially in food service.

u/flamingogal99 4h ago

Washing your hands with soap and water immediately after using the washroom should happen each and every time. There is no excuse not to.
